@dimitrios-kanellopoulos Huge thank you for adding the Heart rate broadcast function. Works flawless with my HOI TOUR ergometer. Now I can use my Suunto as the only wearable.

Did I miss something, or is the announcement only talking about features and not about fixed bugs? I mean, is there a list of bugs that has been fixed?

Ciao io ho attivato HRR (Heart Rate Recovery). Ho fatto una corsa 7km in Z2 e Z3. Finita la corsa ho salvato, ma non ho visto nulla. Sai dirmi qualcosa? Grazie

Is there any official description how you have to behave during the 1 minute rest time to get an accurate interpretation of the result and where can I find it?
So do you have to stand still or sit down or continue with slow walking?
Cause the amount of HR decline during this 1 minute is completely depending on what you do during the 1 minute and therefore there needs to be a description how to use it!

@brave_dave I guess it is up to you, since it looks at the trends and it is probably quite personal. So if you do it always while walking should represent it anyway, if you do it always standing still it should represent the trend also. As I understand it, it is not super scientific, it is just to see how good you heart is recovering in comparison to similar efforts before.

@brave_dave After run I usually walk and during this time I measure the HRR. Except if I run Easy run so never leave zone 1 in which case the HRR will not work. I do not think sitting vs walking will make much difference in the HR. I find myself recovering much faster if I walk than to abruptly stop 🙂

@brave_dave I know on my Huawei watch it instructs you to stay completely still…

As a rule, after major firmware releases that introduces new features or significantly modify existing ones, it would be really useful to have an official document from Suunto that clearly describes how the new features works, instead of leaving users guessing about.
It would save time to users and would valorize the huge work made by Suunto.

Thanks a lot. Did not know that you can observe trends. Where can I find it? Was looking for some explanation how to use this function but couldn’t find any official explanation. But yes, if you can observe trends and you stick with always the same protocol than one can use it. So is then the feedback “normal” also based on your individual trend? Because if Suunto defined what is normal then this might not be accurate if you deviated from their defined protocol.

There are scientific studies that show that there are actually big differences between standing vs. sitting vs. laying down. So therefore it is quite important how the rest period is performed.

@brave_dave That is how I understand it based on this video by Suunto: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jh0gD05DngU it starts on topic at around 5min mark.

@brave_dave Surely there are. That’s why I stated how I porefer it and feel it. I am much more ‘calm’ when after high intensity I slow rather than stop and feel/listen to my heart beat 🙂

@Miroslava Treadmills are usually only compatible with Polar chest heart rate straps (not optical armband sensors).

@Danny-poleg If you happen to be referring to the Vector Classic watch face then indeed it has a battery drain issue (at least with the previous firmware). See https://forum.suunto.com/post/187506. I have a V2 running the latest firmware without battery issues. Just make sure that you have wireless network and wireless discovery turned off (as long as you don’t need to update maps or connect new BT devices). I use the Athletics watch face. It managed <5% per day (24h) without activities.

The hr broadcast to a treadmill has Little to do with the Brand of the hr Belt. And more with connectivity Option of the treadmill. So for example my treadmill at Home can only Display via Ant+ . If you have a hr belt (no matter the Brand ) that has the possibilty to send Data via Ant+ the hr Data will transmitted to the treadmill and you can see it on the treadmill display. The hr broadcasting from the Suunto Watch is via Bluetooth. So the treadmill Must have the option to receive hr data via Bluetooth, if that is not the case you can‘t get the hr Data broadcasted.
