Suunto Software update Q1 (2.53.42)

@Tieutieu Yes it’s great and I also spotted the same: Normal

Thank you Suunto for such a great update.
Used intervals for the first time with in activity sound and vibration instead of having to remember to activate this in general settings before starting an activity. So freeing to know the watch would let me know when to start and stop, and then not to have to remember to change the sound and vibration settings back afterwards for day to day use.
What a wonderful update to the maps as well.
A few things still to sort out such as being able to customise what a long button push does during an activity but this update has made such an improvement to us users in day to day use. Please keep it up and continue to listen to the feedback given in the forum, it is so appreciated.

Hello everyone! First of all, great update! 🤩
I have a small question: I don’t get the difference between
Exercise options > Climb guidance > Notifications
And
Navigation options > Notification > next segment/segment startTo get the notifications of Climb guidance do I have to enable both? Or to avoid them, do I need to turn both off?
-
Has anyone worked out how to customise the data on the map screen? Mine shows heart rate but I can’t work out how to choose other options (I’d like HR, Altitude and compass heading). Tapping the ‘tooth’ doesn’t change anything and my understanding from the release notes is that we could select a number of options from a list and cycle between them with a tap.
I have a vertical 2. -
@MarkG on the map screen scroll down. It is one of the bottom option. Lots op options to choose from.
-
@Audaxjoe Thanks for that prompt reply. I’ve got it now!
-
Thanks for the update. Another huge step forward.
First run after the update and suddenly there is no HR reading. I’m using the Suunto belt. Pausing the activity for a few seconds, like it has been described in the weeks before the update, did recover the HR reading, though.

About alarms : new features are perfect.
Maybe best thing to me : the « infinite scrolling » for choosing hours/minute ! It comes latelly, but surely. Big « quick-win »

This is what a great update looks like

You can actually feel the difference—well done, team.
But… did you forget to add 2–3 new watch faces?
-
Has anyone noticed a change in battery consumption - Vertical 2 with the new display (the one that came out with the limited edition) a drop of about 8% battery at night?

@Danny-poleg Race S. With the previous firmware version, I had battery drain. With the latest version, using the default WF, HRV, DND, barely 3% in almost 12 hours (19PM - 5AM)
-
Race s. Had it on the charging to update maps. Yesterday at 4 in the afternoon it was 100% charged when I took it of the charger. Now 8:30 next morning, it’s on 91%. No always on display, no bloodoxygen. Do have sleeptracking (but only because that is required to measure hrv). Dnd from 21:45 to 7:00.
Just as “bad” as the previous firmware.

quite puzzling there’s such a difference (forgot to mention that wireless & discovery were off as well)

HR recovery works perfectly fine. Tested after a bike ride (sensations are asked after test is performed)
I’m wondering if I have to stop the activity and wait for the HR recovery, or if it is performed automatically as the effort decreases

Yes, you need to end the activity for the 1min test.
For insights during the activity, you can add the HR slope datafield to your sport mode and check the data during your activity. In the latter case it will just not be a fixed 1min test. -
@Stefano-M64 You need to end activity and it automatically shows up if you were in Z2 and above.I have tried 2 times, one in after steady (Z3) run and once after recovery run(Z1), it showed up only after the first one.

Yep very cool indeed!
