For real next-gen, I’d be looking for something where my wrist or palm is the screen. Either implanted or projected. @seokho If you search the forum you’ll find a lot of discussion about barometer. Please read those threads and in case post some specific question. I mean, you didn’t even tell us the watch you’re interested in I’m closing this one

@egika @Jamie-BG I like too if from the APP one can decide how to put on the watch. Should it make it lighter … may be in any case simplier to manipulate as all the screens that someone considere as useless being not here it should simplify how we play with the watch? Having said that, the way SUUNTO DEV team organized the screen and the navigation is really awesome What I like is : moving up, moving down => you access a give set of feature moving on the right (button 2 middle) => you acces of specific feature of that set moving on the left => you come back to main scree touching the screen => you remain on the same feature btu see it from another perspective pressing a long time on the middle button => allwo you to have even more options contextualy on the screen where you are right now Honestly … this is just AWESOME as precisely this allow this flexibility we are discussing What I dream From the APP, to have this capacity to add or remove but also sort this set of feature as well as each specific feature of the set For example and as already mentionned in another post … having the CARDIO just below the default watch face is not a good choice for me … because to reach the ALTIMETER first of all I need to navigate 4 times below and moreover I’m stucked in the CARDIO the time he does its acquisition of signal … But this is my wish … someone else could be very happy as the cardio is its top most important feature … another point : the move on the right something is given poor result For exampe: from the detault watch face screen the move to the right brings you to just the date and battery … a very poor screen whereas it could ahve bring you ro some much more interresting screen that the user could haev choosen in a catalog : for me it will have been the ALTIMETER, the COMPASS, the WEATHER, the ALARM … but for someone else it could have been some others … for example THE CARDIO, THE STRESS, the O2 or I do not know what and for someone else … if there was a music player directly THE MUSIC …

@manuel-silvestri The S9B development has not yet stopped. I think Suunto is a nimble forward thinking and moving company. They want to make sustainable products. I agree that new hardware could have some improvements on the S9baro but I doubt something major. The question to ask yourself is what kind of watch do you need? For me, that is simple, long battery life, durable and reliable. The S9b is perfect for that. What I want in the S9b that it does not have, training plans, was there when Movescount was working and I hope will come back with syncing to 3rd party software. There is little I could ask for hardware wise that I need. I would love to have the map implementation on the S9 that is on the S7. That will not happen for a long time as it will required either development of mapping for an S9 successor or development of an S7 successor with S9 battery life. Neither of those AFAIK would be on the horizon in the next year or so. The S9b is now a helluva watch; the navigation improvements with Komoot turn by turn, waypoints and POIs are awesome. Couple that with the best navigation tools of any manufacturer, which SA has, and you have an outdoor watch winner! I am hoping for offline loading of maps in SA and gradient shading, that would make my day!

@northeast_trekker Agreed, this has been communicated to Suunto quite a bit. I hope something will come of this, I would love to have the altitude graph be user zoomable, on routes as well as the displayed graph. Even better would be color coded for grade. we will see what happens but I doubt firmware changes will come to the Spartans.

Didn’t have to call support, tried again today and my code is working on the Charcoal. Assume the same would be true for the Blue. Now the big question. Pull the trigger or wait for the vNext whatever that happens to be? Ugh… @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos did you make a well placed phone call, or will we remain in mystery

@brad_olwin maybe you’re right sir ! From my point of view it’s look easier to add this feature who should be classic math. It looks easier than adding a complete gps activity. And to be honest I wish a lot they improve this S9b because Suunto is less in marketing, they look more concern by outdoor and nature. They history smell adventure and I want they survive against big tech like Garmin. But they can’t only keep us by passion. They should listen us to. Without us there is no more Suunto.

@matteo-0 said in From Traverse to...: @brad_olwin said in From Traverse to...: could be an issue as you will have no HR if wo thank you @Brad_Olwin, for what I understood S7 is not right choice for me. I was intrigued by the adaptive guided training mode proposed in S3. Di you know if is it available on S9 too? No, the adaptive mode is available only on S3 and S5. However, these are not for you as alpinism and altitude seem to be important to you. S3 cannot display altitude and S5 has GPS altitude, which I find not all that great. Best choice for you seems to be an S9 baro.

I agree that it would be cool to see. Maybe some kind of marker or so on the HR graph in SA. But I personally tend to wear my watch loose when not working out and considering weight of the unit and not the most reliable valencell sensor and no continuous measurement (only each 12min or so), it’s probably more likely that each deviation in HR graph is an error that an indication of heart problem. And during activity it’s probably even more so the case, since active arm movement tends to make my graph pretty noisy, for HR strap also. I thought apple had specific technology to provide this feature and for a “heart scan” you should stay still and they say themselves that one shouldn’t rely on this measurement and visit a doctor.

@surfboomerang said in Pressure change behavior in sport profiles: @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos It was a neat option. But fixing the profile is also a solution. I don’t know if this is the only profile or that there are more to be fixed. Sailing, kitesurfing, sup… etc crossfit or any other activity that is related to alti-static activity in a gym or streetworkout or whatever court.
