But Suunto 9 does know the current time zone, doesn’t it? Why doesn’t it apply that time zone to an indoor activity?

@johann-fuehrer It’s not my fault Cyberdyne (US) are late delivering their pre-orders. It’s like they’re preoccupied with something else.

Pressing middle button while in pause can show live HR indeed. I didn’t know about this feature. Thanks everyone! I’ll update my original post.

@regger I always have up to date APGS data. For me up to date AGPS means the same day as the activity day. Never had issues like this with GAL (except for the July malfunction). Maybe in your region GAL isn’t a good option.

But why if you can use the same Movescount account for multiple watches (or hours as you say)? Everybody is telling you to sync your watches to the same account and you always reply that it is not possible. I don’t get it, people have been using multiple watches with the same Movescount account for ages, why wouldn’t it work for you.

For me it’s okay. I pause the activity with the upper button. Then there are a green field at the top of the screen with “continue” and a red field with “stop” at the bottom of the screen. It’s clear what will happen after pressing a button.

Regardless of what garmin writes, I just looked at the s9 manual and there is no reference to it. You might be right eh … I’m just saying that there’s no warning about not pressing the keys under water

regarding the “I don’t trust maps altitude”… here’s one example I recall: I’ve planned a backcountry skitour in whiterisk platform. this is based on Swiss Topo maps. when I draw the route I don’t know how it looks in reality out there and due to the situation backcountry skiers all know I might go quite far from the “planned” track. the planning once said around 1’600m ascent but we ended up with around 1’900m… the reason why I “don’t care”: you have to walk the distance anyway

@stromdiddily that function does not seem that useful to me. I prefer ther Suunto (and other brands) method: update AGPS-file whenever there is a connection to the internet/ while synchronizing. To be able to see the information how much longer the AGPS-file is valid and helpful on the other hand looks nice … not really essential, and in a way trivial especially as one might ‘know’ that it is limited and the watch works without the AGPS-file, too, only having a (sometimes only slightly) slower GPS-fix, but nice …
