I have stopped using my Suunto Spartan Ultra for swim and run, waiting for everything to mature a bit more… I started using a Apple Watch 4 for running and swimming. It has proven itself to be very accurate with regards to GPS and HR, in fact better than any GPS watch i have used before. It works absolutely flawlessly in the pool so no real need for my SSU right now. The major drawback is battery life, but with at least 6 hours in gps mode it covers all my needs for now.
But with that said, I really hope Suunto gets its swim and run offering together, love my SSU Copper version and hope to put it on soon again 👍
Hello. The synchronization with movescount duplicate all the moves i imported with the beta version of suunto app. I have deleted the duplicated in sport tracker and i have know duplicated run in suunto app i can’t deleted.
@Terppi I agree with this assessment. I’ve also an Ambit3peak and I see the same problem. The way I deal with this right now is to only sync when my iPhone is plugged in and have Auto-lock set to 5 mins in Displays & brightness.
could chlorine be more damaging than sweat and seawater?
It could be but what i`m cared about is that i am out of options just because Suunto belts does not lasts at all.
And this thing costs 20Euro are they kidding there is at least 500% profit.
So I dont have alternative in the pool i ve checked Polar and Garmin and i am not satisfied what they provide in terms of drills and HRM.
Actully started pool swimming is how i get found Suunto watches. For all my other activies i`m ok only with HRM and a phone.
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos yes, this is a good news, the bad one is that I have to send my spartan to be repaired (gps not working well) and I will be using my Ambit3 … which is not supported by the app. Anyway I am happy to be connected again !!!
I just checked mine and they are consistent in the watch and on SA. Two other things to consider. Did you set up custom HR zones? If so, did you also set up the Default Zones? Depending on the type of exercise, you may get the default zones instead of running or biking.
So, very simple croping test with fitfiletools : yes it crops the tracks, the time and the distance, but it kills any ascent/descent data. Maybe it assumes that app will recalculate those values (which is the case for many of them, but not SA : if no total_ascent in fit file, nothing in SA).
It is no criticism, just facts, i imagine that these file are nicely digested by Stava, but for pure and complete fit files, these are two options i won’t use as is (and i would love to do it, it is easy and convenient).
The other fact is that i search quite a lot for easy fit file manipulators that keeps some key values at the end, and i can’t find on that makes all (golden cheetah is good, but first fit export is not OK for SA, missing session message, etc…).
