New Suunto watch coming

Can someone involved in testing of Race please explain how threshold calculation works? Is it another test for threshold detection? Or is it done automatically during high intensity runs? Is the use of chest strap required for detection? Thank you.
-
@Brad_Olwin I’m not gonna change my SV, but still I’m curious about the midlle “rolling” button (that we could probably see on future watches).
One issue I had with my S9B ambassador edition was the size of the buttons that had several times leaded to unwanted pauses, laps…The vertical perfectly works on that point : I don’t need to lock buttons anymore. What about this rolling button behaviour on the Race ?
-
@Tieutieu I also don’t need to lock the Race (because the crown does not do anything else than scrolling during activity). In general I don’t love the crown that much, prefer touchscreen in daily mode and buttons during activity, but this is just personal preference.
-
@dulko79 it is automatic, based on your activities. So, no need to do anything except recording.
-
@isazi Great. Chest strap is required?
-
@dulko79 not needed. Unfortunately I have not been able to do a fitness test since this feature was added to the Race, so the detected threshold for me is lower than what I would expect as I’ve been training (before the injury) for longer and slower efforts.
-
@Brad_Olwin phenomenal effort on your race Brad! Eyeballing Run Rabbit Run next year so may be up your way-ish
-
@isazi thanx for feedback and good luck with recovery.
-
With NFC, but without contactless payments?
And no recovery time?

@Egika display looks nice. Can you show screen with new sleeping tracking?
It includes sleep stages plus a percentage of those.

Correct. The NFC is built in, but correctly not used for any function. Maybe there to be able to develop some feature later.
-
@Egika and is it feasible to develop in future sw update? Just asking
-
@Egika curious if you’re able to show size difference between the 9PP
Thanks!
-
@Egika except if people would be honest:
“We love making watches, here’s our latest one - specks and price are compatitive, so please consider buying one, so we can keep making more and don’t have to look for a new job”I would honestly appreciate such ads much more than ‘some people’ or ‘i always stop for the horses’.

You can make a remake of this video for Suunto, would be funny
https://youtu.be/WLfqSLwFLM8?si=Ya2VZjejfE7EjdMUAlthough I agree with you, I think no company will make that , because that is assuming they are not “top”.
-
@Brad_Olwin how was your tss for this run?
-
@Frederick-Rochette TSS was 1721, and the last 100 mile race I did in June TSS 1914. These take awhile to recover from…

Here you go

I hope there will come a new watch in the 9 peak size in the future. Or was that just a short side track that will never happen again.
