Not about this new race but about wings - sorry for digression => “answering call function”. That meens it has a mic ?
Yes, is actually has 2 mics built in.
Plus it has some other innovative features, like head movement control and built in LED lights.This is what the SA connection is for: to configure those features
Thanks ! I was looking to get this kind of headphones…I comes right on time and seems very nice !

@EzioAuditore SV = Bury …
A difference with the new health algo? An in-house version and a purchased version? -
@Tieutieu
oh you’re talking about Wings … I missed that -
@Ketoohs The SV will probably have all the features Race have now. Solar, battery life and Made in Finlad would make me choose the Vertical…

So I understand that we’ve bought an SV, which is SUUNTO’s top-of-the-range model, especially in terms of price, and that we’re not going to get all the features (precise sleep and nap tracking, threshold detection) of the Race, which is a much cheaper watch. Do you who don’t work for SUUNTO understand this and are happy with it? I really don’t! If I want a complete watch, I have to buy the RACE, right?
I want to believe that SV is going to get it.
Also garmin does that all the time, even with much cheapear watches (Venu 3 vs 965) and the implementation on older watches come later…or not…on some features of the venu 3 there isn’t really yet a word of which goes to which watches.
But I agree, it doesn’t make anyone happy.
Edit: from Ray’s video! Bravo suunto!

Please, dear sports watch gods, can we stop with the “Some people…” advertising tag line?
-
@Lechamoix Race has better specs, and cheaper than SV? Can’t imagine vertical selling better than Race… I understand stand many would still prefer MIP, but the future should be Amoled and with time, battery life on amoled could be better .
-
@stromdiddily no
but there will always be someone out there who does not like any marketing claim -

I tested the Race appropriately at a 100 mile race two weeks ago, Bear 100. It was stellar and matched nearly perfectly the Vertical, which I was also wearing. Battery life claims are real. Feel free to ask me questions.
-
and finally from DCR reviews I get to know that Race has
- Find MY Phone
- Multiple Alarms
both rolling back to Vertical that I have.
Whit this I do not thinks I will never again think about moving to another brand.All the rest is minor to me as I have learned to train by heart and listen to my body and want to keep doing so.
Well done Suunto!!! I am gonna order a ridicously expensive silicon strap just to support !
-
@dulko79 Is progress coming to the SV titanium ?
-
Can someone involved in testing of Race please explain how threshold calculation works? Is it another test for threshold detection? Or is it done automatically during high intensity runs? Is the use of chest strap required for detection? Thank you.
-
@Brad_Olwin I’m not gonna change my SV, but still I’m curious about the midlle “rolling” button (that we could probably see on future watches).
One issue I had with my S9B ambassador edition was the size of the buttons that had several times leaded to unwanted pauses, laps…The vertical perfectly works on that point : I don’t need to lock buttons anymore.What about this rolling button behaviour on the Race ?
-
@Tieutieu I also don’t need to lock the Race (because the crown does not do anything else than scrolling during activity). In general I don’t love the crown that much, prefer touchscreen in daily mode and buttons during activity, but this is just personal preference.
-
@dulko79 it is automatic, based on your activities. So, no need to do anything except recording.
-
@isazi Great. Chest strap is required?
-
@dulko79 not needed. Unfortunately I have not been able to do a fitness test since this feature was added to the Race, so the detected threshold for me is lower than what I would expect as I’ve been training (before the injury) for longer and slower efforts.
-
@Brad_Olwin phenomenal effort on your race Brad! Eyeballing Run Rabbit Run next year so may be up your way-ish
-
@isazi thanx for feedback and good luck with recovery.
