Suunto Vertical: Bug Collection
-
Since last tuesday, my SV Ti did a couple of unexpected reboots. The first time it happened before starting a stretching workout. I selected the stretching activity profile and the watch froze on the following screen. About 20s later it rebooted itself (I did not press any buttons except the start button three times).
The other times it happened during the day, when the watch displayed the solar charging watch face. I did not even interact with the watch. I saw the booting screen by accident. After reboot, the resources are always reset to 40%. I have seen this reset to 40% now 4 times (in 7 days). So I guess 4 reboots (+ the one when starting the stretching workout). Next time it happens, I will send the logs to Suunto immediately afterwards.
My settings: 24/7 HR on, sleep on, blood oxygen measurements during sleep, no notifications, standby off, backlight low, target notifications (steps,…) on, watch face is the solar charing watch face.
Lucky me: it never happened during the 16 hours of training I did since receiving the watch
-
@freeheeler thanks I found it . User error
-
@wmichi rebooting on its own should not happen. Did you send logs immediately after?
-
@isazi I’m able to reproduce not locking screen by going to weather screen on watch and leave it open. it will go back to the time but screen never locks for me and seconds are there. I have vertical non solar. I can send logs if you are not able to reproduce it.
-
@dombo so just go to weather, stay there, and watch does not lock itself ever after?
-
@isazi yes. Just reported it
-
Am mistaken if I think I should be able to select power as Intensity zones during exercise? I only get the options of HR and Power.
I am using the standard Runnning - Power sport profile, and have adjusted the zones for running power.
Edit: didn’t manage the photo, but it was only a picture of the watch showing only HR an Pace as options into the pre-workout menu.
-
@isazi exactly
-
@olaffen there is an issue in both S9PP and Vertical, power zones can be set only if paired to external power monitor.
-
Thanks
-
@dombo it does lock itself with testing firmware. I just tried.
-
@isazi it does not lock for me
-
@dombo Nice find!
Maybe there are some other screens/actions that trigger this too because I can’t remember that I left the Weather widget open. But the result is the same.Let’s hope it is indeed fixed in the new firmware
Edit:
Ow… too bad@Egika said in Suunto Vertical: Bug Collection:
@isazi it does not for me
-
@isazi so it should be already fixed, right?
-
@dombo apparently not, it is fine for me, but it is not for others.
-
@isazi my Vertical Solar locks itself if left on the weather widget (running 2.25.48)
-
@Freezer It looks like it is related to the position of the widgets.
I performed the following tests (positions are relative to the watch face):- weather widget, 1 screen left from watch face -> doesn’t lock
- notification widget, 1 screen right -> doesn’t lock
- solar widget, 3 screens right -> locks watch
- moved solar widget to 1 screen right from the watch face -> doesn’t lock
- notification widget, now 2 screens right -> locks watch
-
@isazi Unfortunately not. At the time when I saw it rebooting, my 3 year old son slept on me and I didn’t dare to move to get to my phone Next time.

Sorry @Egika it locks for me if I leave the solar face screen alone, I am with @isazi on this one for test firmware.

In activelook app on SV, battery status screen on a watch s+ shows only dash, It does work on S5P.
Same app on SV when navigation gets manually switched from route to breadcrumb, glasses get stuck at showing waypoint distance without changing, just stays frozen. When I turn off and on glasses, it resumes normal operation.
