12h of exercices since initial full charging on thuesday, mostly with Maps activated (used a lot) and gps on performance mode, touchscreen activated during exercice.
Backlight to low, turn to raise on minimum.
No notifications, but sleep and hr tracking h24 activated.
Still 72% battery.
Sync with app used a lot, watch menus and widget used a lot.
Impossible to say how much solar helped, but i guess it has a Little.
The Vertical is a quite impressive tool !! -
Vertical vs 7? What is your opinion?

@Kamil-Kamil There is a separate thread on this topic. Please check the forum.

Hi ! Does someone experimented some kind of « auto-lock » during an exercice ?
Two times this morning the watch locked on while running, without using buttons to do it. And I’m 100% sur I didn’t pushed accidentally the buttons.
Couldn’t tell how long I had not touch the screen when it happened.
Not a big deal, almost a « good thing » -
@Tieutieu
what do you mean for “lock” ?
does screen turn off or are just the buttons locked? -

I can’t believe tracks on this thing?!
-
@Tieutieu
when you very quickly double tap the data screen you can lock the screen with a third tap on exactly the dedicated field in the “pop-up” lock screen -

Love the watch, got the maps sorted (which was user error rather than anything on Suunto’s side)
The only negative I can find is the charger, the magnets just seem to be very weak and with any slight knock or movement the watch just falls off it. Completely the opposite compared to the S9B where you almost have to physically pull the watch off!
-
@MiniForklift my understanding is there are sensitive components inside that would be affected with a strong magnet. Hence, the change in charger starting with S9PP.

Thanks for the explanation, that makes sense. It’s only a pain if it’s not charging whilst stationary, for example I’ll quite often charge it while I’m driving. But not too much of a big deal I guess as you hardly have to charge the thing
-
@Brad_Olwin I‘m a bit confused about the charger… I got one with my S9PP and now one with the SV… they both look like they are the same, and they are both with a very weak magnetic force. I remember I read or hear somewhere in a SV review, perhaps DC Rainmaker?, that the Charger of SV is better than the charger of S9PP… but you said there was a change with S9PP…
-
@SuperFlo75
the change happened from S9P to S9PP. S9PP and SV chargers are compatible.
you can see the difference also in the contact pattern. newer chargers have these button type connectors only -
@freeheeler Ok, thank you for the information. But in the Suunto webstore, I could buy a charging cable compatible with S9P and S9PP… I can use the newer cable for the older device, but not the older cable for the newer device?
-
@SuperFlo75
yes exactly, that’s what I did, too -
I’m now also a member of the Vertical club 'cause I couldn’t resist.
First impression: F*cking awesome!

Hi all,
four short questions:- Do you can store music on the watch?
- Currently you can zoom out the maps only to 500m. Is it planned that it will be more in the future? Likely to get an overview where I’m if I’m lost in the wild.
- I do understand that I can’t plan routes on the watch. But I do can use the APP for it anytime. But could I do this without cellphone coverage if I do download the maps in the app before?
- Do I need an account to use the watch?
-
@Phil-M
very brief answer…- no
- unknown
- no (network required)
- yes

I’ve seen the 500m number mentioned a lot. I’m in the U.S. and use imperial units, and my max zoom out reads 0.5 miles, which is just over 800m.
Can someone answer: Is there, in fact, a different (higher) level that it zooms out to when using imperial, or is there some rounding in those listed numbers?
