@mikekoski490 Amazon will probably honor your 05/23 date as the first wave of shipments will have been done by then and they’d claw themselves some new stock. Hopefully, your purchase and delivery would go better than mine!

@zhang965 But that’s kinda my point. Right now I’m using a new Fenix 6x. When the time comes I’ll need money to upgrade to the 7x or the Enduro 2 when Garmin releases something new; which it’s my understanding they’ll be releasing an updated Fenix 7 and Epix 2 in a month or 2. Unlike others who can afford to buy multiple watches from multiple brands, I have to pick one…and I’m ok with that. However with that said I think with the release of the Suunto Vertical, Suunto has possibly overtaken Polar (and possibly Coros). Now that’s just based on the quality of the product itself. Of course sales will tell a different story. Does anyone know how well the Suunto Vertical is selling world wide?
Ok but I don’t have multiple brands watches… And I saw vertical has been pre ordered… about 50 in china market so far…

@Tieutieu are your power zones set correctly? You can set separate zones for running.
No I have understood that I must do it properly if I want to use power for training. Right now I’ll still use HR

You can easily get an idea of your Power Zones by doing either a Cooper Test or FTP test (bike but just do a run). Analyze the avg power during the test and that should give you a good approximate. The FTP might give the Critical Power directly, I have not tried it.

@NickK I am actually still very impressed, that you got (at least here in Europe) the Vertical delivered on release day, when it was preordered. Great service!
-
@ChrisA
well, it looks like that eventually, Suunto cares

Got my Suunto Vertical Titanium Solar (sands) just in time for our trip to Reno-Taho area. Finished the watch update just before we headed to the airport. My wife was starting to lose her patience with me

@NickK Hmmm…Im doubtful. Hasnt shipped yet and its a 3 day weekend coming up here.

What can I say? Amazon did us dirty! I hope Bezos uses <insert competitor watch> and gets lost walking his estate
It’s 9:37pm and Amazon web site amazingly still says the order delivers today by 10:00pm, even though the details page has a status of “ordered” and tracking shows “shipping now” for the second day running (they can’t even agree what to lie ). The best part is this abomination of pre-order can’t be cancelled.
I’m seriously considering ordering tomorrow from Suunto directly and refusing delivery from Amazon if one comes in the next few days. Yes, it would be irrational cutting one’s nose to spite a face, but you got to do something man! This aggression won’t stand!

@NickK Obviously you’re not a golfer.

Despite I am very happy with my S9PP, I could not resist and just ordered a Vertical Black non Solar on Amazon ITA. Expected May 24.
I Will have at least one month to try it and decide if I want to come back to big watches or I will stick to the smaller one.
In the first case my S9PP will go on sales somewhere and I was thinking : ‘how about a small permanent market place in this forum?’ It could be a good eco-friendly alternative to the suunto buy-back program that lot of us has suggested for cases like mine. -
@trailcafe la stessa cosa per me

So waking up this morning by the strong sun penetrating my curtains and staying 5 mins staring in the horizon I said lets check the bat on this thing after 2 days cause after the night training it was something like 96% It now sits at 100% just after 5mins in the sun. The solar charges, not only helps draining of bat. Suunto what have you done…

Seriously, have you contacted suunto support?

Sometime ago it was decided that the forum does not serve its intended purposes as a marketplace, so it won’t happen
there are already a lot of places to buy and sell watches.

Has anyone yet tried the real time guidance feature yet?
if so:
Do you get lap based commentary through the headphones (when listening to music via iphone)?
What information is presented?
Is the feature seamless; in that does it silence the music temporally when giving guidance then bring music back?
many thanks -
@TonyG yes

Yeah, I’ve seen some quirky battery things in the morning if in the 95-99% range where it’ll literally gain battery in front of me like a progress bar counter in a matter of seconds.
Obviously, you’re not charging the watch upwards that much in just 5 minutes. Been on my to-do list to send along. Only seems to happen first thing in morning, and only seems to happen - or me notice it - at very high battery percentages.

For batteries a 100% charge is relative. At 15C or 25C the 100% has an different absolute value. Over time 100% will be less in absolute mAh too.
My guess is that a battery re-calibrating algorithm kicks in at nearly 100%. Nothing special to Suunto, most rechargeable devices do that.
