Suunto Vertical is here

 after the clock hasn’t done anything for ages, the message error 1479 has been corrected. then nothing for a very long time and then I was offered the option of a software update. so far so good the first run compared to the Fenix 7x went really well.
-
 @halajos it now shows the past hour, not anymore the last 10 minutes.
-
 @NickK Used the SV on the left and AW8 on the right to check the HR and Polar Verity Sense paired to the mobile. I did some 30 mins Yoga heavily focused on wrist being pushed to the ground and then some Core training ~20. In the Yoga my S9B would show smt like 50-60 beats too low and AW was always good. Now with the SV average HR 76, AW 78 and the Polar and app 77
 The Core training is similar with only 1-2 beats of difference. SV: 112, AW 111, Polar 112
 So for me its much better than the s9b at least for Yoga/Pilates/Strenght

 @isazi thanks! I thought the route elevation profile had changed.

 Been cheking solar charging comportment during last hour. Doesn’t seems to work well being car glass even in bright sun ; don’t know if it is normal. Outside it seems better ; but for now no conclusion on that point (and hope my watch is ok on this point ! :p)

 WiFi heads up…
 The watch doesn’t seem to like hidden SSID’s

 Appearantly I am too dumb to activate the maps on the Vertical. I downloaded my region, watch says download complete, app says downloaded, but when I go into maps on the watch theres just this white grid. GPS works, position shown is correct, what must I do actually see the maps?
-
 @Tieutieu the glass of your window filters the right wavelength
-
 @ChrisA
 did you zoom in and out?
-
 Did a TP guide on a treadmill. With the 9p when I pressed the lap button the guide went to the next interval. Today on the Vertical it recorded a manual lap. Is there a setting to change this?
-
 @Ketoohs not sure about SV, but I did face this on S9P and TP guides, I ended up going for a watch restart by pressing the upper button for 12 secs and that fixed it, recalled that even recreating the guide wasn’t working. You might want to try.

 Three “weird” things I found: -
New sport modes are always in Custom battery mode for the first time instead of Performance because of the touchscreen “map only” setting. Easy to change, but I would expect Performance to be the default
-
The “Display Timeout” enabled actually reduces the battery prediction by 1 hour on a full charge. I would expect the opposite actually.
-
I can’t seem to lock the watch when an activity is paused. Keeping the lower button pressed just scrolls to the “Discard” option (Dangerous! ) )

 did you zoom in and out?Yes, it’s like there’s just no map. I wonder if the downloaded map really is the right one. It shows the right area, but its very close to the border of the map…
-
 @ChrisA
 I was downloading maps while I did a retirement run with my beloved S9B Titanium X-Alps 0210/1138… sooo many nice moments!!! 🥹 …ok, back to topic: I’ll try now with my maps

 @Hristijan-Petreski said in Suunto Vertical is here: isazi Are you aware of any incompatibilities with WiFi6 routers? For example whatever I do I cannot add wifi to the watch. The router in question is Fritz 6690 with same name for the 2.4 and 5 wifi. It shows 2.4 only

-
 I also got mine today. The worst experience is to create all sports modes from the scratch, so I will be happy about new watch tomorrow. I hope Suunto will solve this, because I will have to stay with this watch forever coming from S9B impression about new UI is very good. coming from S9B impression about new UI is very good.

Today on the Vertical it recorded a manual lap. I think that’s the exact behavior I’m seeing on S9PP, quite possibly a correct behavior. Pressing “lap” records manual lap unless TP workout is setup to explicitly skip to next interval:
