Suunto Vertical is here

Preordered (and have to run by my fiancee before they arrive ). Switching from Garmin Fenix 7 back to Suunto
For these reasons:
- battery life - if it is as claimed, then it is a gamechanger! During my important run (120k FKT attempt) my F7 died (fortunately pacer has been tracking), Garmin proved that the battery estimates vary a lot (maps drain a lot of battery, backlight turns unnecessarily on)
- the lag in maps! With F7 the lag before the map actually turns is really annoying and sometimes I have to wait or do some steps in one direction and then go back if I am on the wrong path, based on the reviews the Vertical is smooth and fast in this regard!
- design. Suunto has beautiful design.
- Mobile app. Finally I can get rid of the terrible Garmin app and go back to the beautiful and useful Suunto app!

This aspect has not gotten enough love yet: The Vertical maps turn and scroll super smooth and instantly!!

@isazi @gone-troppo HR inaccuracy on S9B drove me crazy to the point that I’ve started using a chest strap for ALL activities, even walking. I was just standing and the watch said my HR was 170. Now with S9PP it’s much much much better. No chest strap during walking anymore.

Is the Vertical able to track and show the heart rate variability? I didn’t find any information on the Suunto website.
-
@pilleus it tracks it, it does not report it for now. But Suunto App will allow this soon enough.
-
@Highlands The new Vertical straps are available separately now:

Quite a minor detail, but will the vertical come in that awesome black box we saw on the teasing traillers or not at all?
This one?

On this video from nakan at 3’15 there is nice comparison with epix 2 illustrating perfecly the smoothness of suunto’s map integration !

Pity, would be cool for the ones that pre ordered.

Ho appena ordinato il Vertical Black Lime…

@Hristijan-Petreski it is very individual. I also mainly train running and the inability to pair 2 different HR accessories is probably(?) at the top of my list of complaints when it comes to Suunto watches. I hope they will correct this soon.
-
@aroo7 I am sorry for asking and trying to understand. How will you use the data coming from 2 different HRs? So what will be the HR reported by the watch? The 1st or the 2nd HR source? Or are you just referring to have it in the list of HRs and not need to go through the re-paring process?
-
@Egika Very nice selection of colors.
-
@Hristijan-Petreski I can tell you for cycling. Power meter from indoor trainer and power meter from pedals/crank/hub. Not simultaneously of course, but one rainy day you cycle indoors and next day you go out. Pairing all the time, unnecessary if you ask me (as DC rainmaker said, we are not in 90’s ) Or maybe you have two HR monitors (Suunto for swimming and H10 for other - because of ANT+, recording zwift + watch).
-
@Likarnik Yes sure, I agree it can be improved but I tried to understand if someone really uses (or even supports) 2 same type sensors simultaneously.
-
@isazi Will we get a score or will we get the details of the HRV test or both?
-
@Hristijan-Petreski I think this is not the question, I’m not sure how to use two HR belts simultaneously? Which one has priority and so on. This is a question of having more than one sensor and no need to pair it every time (btw, when you pair speed/cadence sensor you are also asked for wheel circumference, it can be quite annoying).
-
@Likarnik Yup got it. Thnx.
