Problem with time?
-
I live in Poland. UTC time zone +1.0, in summer +2.0
In August 2022, being in Portugal (UTC 0.0), I noticed for the first time that despite the correct time in the watch (S9P) in the application and downloaded GPX, it was Polish time.
In February 2023, a similar situation in Iceland (S9PP). IS UTC 0.0, PL UTC +1.0.
The time on the watch is synchronized by the application.What’s the problem?

@Piotr-Grygiel Does the device correct the time zone after you turn on GPS and get a location fix?

@Piotr-Grygiel
Time zone - I don’t know.
The time was correct.
GNSS fix correct. -
@Piotr-Grygiel the time in GPX files should always be in UTC time, that is the GPX specification for all vendors (https://www.topografix.com/gpx_manual.asp).
An application can transform it into local time.
Can you open the GPX file with a text editor and have a look if the timestamps are correct in there?
-
@twekkel You’re right. Time in GPX is UTC. Iceland is in the UTC zone, but in the Suunto app, activities from Iceland synchronized in Iceland are in UTC +1. (!?)
-
@Piotr-Grygiel I assume it has to do with the time zone set in your phone, automatic vs manual. Suunto app will have no knowledge of time zones and will rely on the phone settings.

@twekkel
Thanks, my issue has been fixed. -
