@zhang965 I´ll check in a couple hours or latest tomorrow how fast the capacity will go down.

After 12h and battery save mode the capacity went from 100% to 10%. So, the firmware downgrade didn’t help 😞

@freeheeler not even 2 years, bought it in April 2021.
I’ve contacted Suunto support, they suggesting to sent the watch for an inspection. I guess it will turn out in a costly repair.

@maxm23 if you watch is less than 2 years old is covered by warranty in EU, so you probably will not have to pay anything.

@isazi I hope so, it is big hurdle to request the repair.
The system don’t let proceed and save the data. Struggling since more than one hour. I’m frustrated and disappointed in Suunto service.

some fields are required that are not very obvious as I remember… fortunately I don’t need this service frequently…

@freeheeler you were right, the Suunto service performed outstanding. I’ve sent the watch, they changed the battery and sent it back within a couple days. No charges at all.

Hi, I have the same issue with my S9B.
Drains from 100% to 0% in less than 24 h in flight mode and with battery saving on.
Tried the discharge cycle, soft & hard reset as well as a downgrade to 2.16.26 without any improvement.

My watch is over 2 years old so no warranty will help me. Sending it for service seems costly as I am quite sure it is a firmware issue as more people are experiencing exactly the same problems and often from one day to the other.

Did you or anyone else actually solve this issue?

if you did a downgrade to the previous firmware but the battery drain remains, then I would exclude firmware as a potential root cause

@freeheeler I hear what you say.
As the issue came one day to another it seems very illogical that the battery quality gave up?

I can see that other have had the same issue with battery going from 5 day to less than 24 h and not been able to resolve it via hard resets or downgrading. So to me it have to be a cause to this. If not firmware, what else could be the issue?

if a physical damage happened to the battery it can reduce capacity from one day to enother.
it’s hard to point at the reason without seeing the watch or having the possibility of deeper analysis as Suunto service centers have…

I understood you already did a whole charging cycle with soft reset when full etc and the issue remaind. I would get in touch with support if you can exclude that any settings would cause the drain.

holding thumbs they can help you further ✊

@viktorstefansson Hi! Today I received a response from an unofficial service in my area. He replaced the battery with a new one, but that didn’t fix the problem.

Hi, thanks for your response. Sorry that it did not solve the issue, that strengthens my belief that it is another cause to this issue.

Some have stated that the barometer itself could cause battery drain when not functioning correctly. I have tried having the watch submerged for several hours to see if that would improve the situation, but still no change in battery life.

Suunto customer service mainly directs me to standard answers and guidelines or refer me to a battery replacement.

the issue with your watch is either different from the watch of @maxm23 or official Suunto service did something more.
did you receive the watch back already or is it your local service telling you it isn’t any better?
