Suunto Plus apps

Hi,
Have any of you tried the swimrun application? In my two attempts, the watch (S9B) never detected the transition from running to swimming. Only once did the watch register swimming, but I was actually just standing at the traffic lights . Could the problem be that the watch doesn’t recognize breaststroke swimming?
Thanks. -
@paata the swimrun app is solely based on speed change. It is not looking at specific arm movements (at least for now).
-
@Egika Strange, because the running pace I have is around 5:30-6:00 per kilometer, and swimming is much slower. Maybe the issue lies in the short swimming segment (50 meters), and the watch doesn’t seem to register the change in speed. I’ll try again.
Thank you for the clarification. -
@paata We are in the process of making the swimrun more accurate. It hasn’t had much polishing, since testing results are scarce. Swimrun is using pressure and cadence, but we need to take a closer look at the specific values of different resources to get it to work as well as possible.
-
@Ilya-Sul Did the watch get power well from the sensor otherwise? Meaning the other screens show power value just fine. Also the decoupling is using speed in cycling too, so the watch needs to receive speed values from somewhere to calculate.
-
@NeaLuu Yes, power meter has always been connected and the activity records just fine, just without Decoupling.
Speed might be the problem, but why isn’t that mentioned anywhere? It’s pace for running and power for cycling. Speed makes absolutely no sense for cycling.
The problem is on Suunto’s side btw., my Indoor Bike transmit all data to my Garmin and Polar watches just fine. It’s on the Suuntos where I have to choose between Speed and Power POD and I can’t use both, since the watch doesn’t get that it’s a Trainer. -
@Ilya-Sul Oh my god! I found the issue, thanks a lot for this! I checked in more detail and found a teeny bug in the cycling The fix should be out very soon!
-
@NeaLuu Nice! Thank you
-
@NeaLuu I don’t have visibility on who’s the creator of last km, whether Suunto or another third party dev, any chance you are? Reported an issue with SV + last km and audio feedback on this thread since time back, wondering if we have it down?
-
@herlas Not the creator but I’m the one currently keeping track and fixing/updating S+ apps. I only recently found this thread, could you repeat your issue? I haven’t received any bugs about that. Audio feedback though, sounds like something that S+ wouldn’t be responsible for… Have you tried recently if it still happens?
-
Hi @NeaLuu,
it would be nice to have an updated version of the Core Sensor S+ app to record the temperature in °C instead of °K.
-
@trailcafe Yes, working on that also
edit: The app should have celsius though, there is only two possible formats that follow the preset unit mode that the user has configured metric gives celsius and imperial gives fahrenheit. Kelvin isn’t shown anywhere in the app -
Noticed something with the cadence coach app on my S9PP :
How to reproduce :- start a running activity with the cadence app enabled
- run
- stop running (you get a warning about the low cadence)
- try disabling the app
Then the warning about low cadence is on a loop, and the watch don’t stop vibrating until you actually manage to disable the app.
-
@taziden Thanks for this! I’ll take a look I think I have an idea where it comes from
-
@NeaLuu yes, I only have to recalculate it when I use WKO.
Another question is:
S+ Climb has NGP written into the FIT file, Manual Intervals - Hill Reps has not. Is it possible to add this too? -
I wish NGP and Grade were just regular fields
-
@trailcafe Manual intervals has it as avg hill NGP value in the summary, but not as a graph. Do you think a graph would be good to have?
-
@NeaLuu well, I think there are quite enough people training with TrainingPeaks and are used to that NGP calculation. Additionally it would be a nice add-on in comparison to Garmin’s Grade Adjusted Pace and to the Effort Pace of Coros (which IMHO has too much “magic” in it by taking former efforts into its calculation).
-
@trailcafe Cool, I’ll se about making that a graph!
