Suunto 9 Peak Pro?
-
@freeheeler Oh thats good. The S9P and Coros watches got kinda messed up when I wore my polarized Oakleys.
-
@Simon I agree that you need a chest strap or armband OHR for good HR readings. I have always used a chest HRM with Garmin/Polar/Suunto/COROS and the odd time for fun have tried to do a workout without one and just use the wrist OHR, and its pretty bad. Hiking was generally OK though. I think wrist OHR is good for daily HR checks (for sickness or over training) and sleeping tracking.

@Łukasz-Szmigiel Ill double check when I eventually receive my Ti Slate in Vancouver, Canada…shipped from Finland on Oct. 25th DHL express and was supposed to arrive Oct. 28…but it then went to Germany, then The Netherlands where it was put on hold for some unknown reason for 3 days, then went back to Germany for further processing, now apparently its somewhere in the U.S. getting some customs clearance…

@freeheeler said in Suunto 9 Peak Pro?:
@mountainChris
how’s running and cycling then with S9PP?Did a cycling today, and OHR was not just inaccurate, but totally wrong.
I will post comparison from this S9PP session and Suunto SmartSensor HR values soon. -
It looks I can save some money now.
-
I had an OHR test today. The Garmin with chest strap and the S9PP with OHR. I’ve seen better ones but you can make up your own mind. But the watches are pretty much in agreement about the distance.

@Kurt68
thank you for sharing. if we ignore this main spike it doesn’t look soo bad actually really good…no idea why this helpful post received a down vote
-
@Kurt68
Running works very good for me too. Do you have hiking / mountaineering experiences with OHR S9P or S9PP or someone else? -
@mountainChris hiking doesn’t work for me with OHR at all. Probably because of the hiking poles? I test this very rarely but I usually use a chest strap.
-
I put the S9PP and the Fenix 7x into operation on Saturday at 6 p.m. with 100% battery. As of today Fenix 78% Suumto 87%. Unbelievable what Suunto gets out of such a small and light watch.
-
@Kurt68 Thanks, as I posted also my experience. With poles or without poles the same. Also on warmer days. There are watches out there that are capable of that. Think from HW standpoint S9PP could do this, but I more and more think it is not really applied in SW in a way that works for many users, unfortunately. Could have something to do with more various unsteady movement than running. Just a guess. Hope S9PP gets more love to this. Hiking, speed hiking, mountaineering is a big group of activity of users… And for me also Suuntos home town (for example Suunto’s bench fused alti)
-
@mountainChris I made a new topic about HR comparison. I never wear a chest strap hiking/mountaineering, but the S9PP works better than the S9P for me in those cases.
-
@isazi Thanks. My intention is not to talk hiking HR or watch bad, but to maybe have someday an improvement here.
If hiking OHR for me would be as good as fused alti, I am in heaven.
-
@mountainChris I know.

Does anyone know how I can get hold of one? Have spent some time tonight trying to purchase online - with Conrad Sports I got through to the checkout and then found out there’s no option to ship to New Zealand. Then I tried BikeInn and again, unable to ship to NZ
-
@MiniForklift
just saw that Suunto only starts shipping to NZ end of January?!
I’m crossing fingers that you find one before end of November -
Are the Sand and Slate editions of the Titanium S9PP the same watch just with different bands? I mean since they are both Titanium, the frame looks the same in the photos.
-
@seanvk
the body color is like the band color, they are different -
@freeheeler The material sandwiched in-between the titanium top and base, and where the buttons protrude, match the stock band color.

@mikekoski490
yes, thanks, I think I was a bit unclear with my answer, sorry for that
