Racewalking(Speed/Brisk walking)
-
@isazi And when I want to exerice, recording will be made from app?
No need to do something on the watch -
@djordje-s you create custom sport modes for the watch in the app.
-
@isazi Thx.Still I would like more if Suunto could add it as a sport.If they created mode for Fishing,I doubt that anyone will complain for speed walking :)))))
-
@djordje-s said in Racewalking(Speed/Brisk walking):
If they created mode for Fishing
Heck, we even saw requests for trendy 2 person canoeing on this forum
. So why not -
@surfboomerang at least two persons can share a cost for a watch :)))))
-
Hi @Djordje-S, since it’s an Olympic sport I will say, it make sense to ask.
BR
-
@djordje-s what was your speed if you don’t mind me asking? And also what did the excessive speed impact?
-
-
@djordje-s little clarification
When I contacted Suunto support,they’ve asked me to share with them few exercises from Suunto app and after that advise was to change it to running mode. -
@suzzlo I believe that there are some people who are not in the mood to run that day but again to have some speed walk in order to practice/relax

-
@djordje-s I would still use the walking sportsmode and create a new one calling it „speed walking“ etc. I often do Nordic Walking were my pace is between 10-12 min/km uphill, about 8-9 min/km on flat ground and when it goes downhill again I usually „run“ with both poles in one hand at around 6-7 min/km - have no problems with „walking too fast“ ? Too fast for what ?
-
@chrisa maybe GPS smoothing algos are not tweaked for these kind of speeds? I would be interested in what is impacted too.
-
@chrisa well,it seems that walking mode is made for 4-6km/h and everything above that is under running :). Again,for running you have to have some higher speed so it seems that area between 6-9/10 should be covered by some speed walking mode

-
@djordje-s like @suzzlo pointed out,it is afterall Olympic sport so it should be asked

-
@djordje-s true, but not all Olympic sports are present on the watch anyway, aren’t they?
-
@dmytro I coupd not agreed more :))))) Just per my opionion ,speed walking is something which is more represented during exercise.
