Having the capacity to order differently the screens + a COMPASS screen immediately available

I think with this post I will have put all my ideas on my dreamed improvement of this SUUNTO 9 BARO watch which I like already so much.
So … SUUNTO folks … you will breath again

My last suggestion … again as a mountainer

Apart the current time which tells you how to organize the next, what is the fundamental information you would like to have when you are in mountain ?

It’s your position

Position is simple to obtain : a point on a map that you obtain through triangulation with 2 summit and a confirmation you are right thanks to the altitude (of course assuming you caibrate it when you started)

So … you need the ALTIMETER and the COMPASS straight immediately available …

Imagine you have a COMPASS screen also available … and

For altimeter it is not too difficult even if not straight here … 1 click on the Button 2 (middle) followed by 5 down … so 6 moves
humm … not too bad … but could be obtained in just 2 … 1 click on the button 2 (middle) followef by just 1 down

For Compass … well if this screen was immediatelly available, then if I could have placed it just after the ALTIMTER … then with one more move down I will have accessed it…

Let’s pursue on mountain …

What is now the second main information you need to have durign a mountain journey ?

The WEATHER evolution … and to check regularly if this beautiful sunny day will remain or if very suddently the weather will change and you must change your plan …

YOU HAVE IT !!! thanks to this wonderful SUUNTO PLUS Weather sreen
so if I was able to have in just after the compas … with exactly 4 actions I could have seen where I’m, confirmed by my altitude and stay quiet as weather is stable …

An happy mountainer with his wonderful watch that will make jealous all the others

So my idea …

Is it possible in next release to have this COMPASS screen available
and … is it possible from the ANDROID or APPLE application to reorder the screens.

May be some people who have other center of interrest will also appreciate and will choose as screen immetially here, the calories or the number of walk …

Why don’t you just use the sports mode customization to adjust the sequence of screens and information the way you like?

I asked for this, reordering screens, few months ago too. As I spend much of my free time in the mountains too I also think different order of screens would be beneficial to mountaineers.

And it’s not just the order. Some people don’t use some screens at all and they unnecessarily contribute to clutter. In ambit3 era, you could have easily disable screens you don’t use. For example, this screen with HR is the first next to default watch face. And is the slowest screen in whole watch interface. Watch feels sluggish because of it. And furthermore this data is not even reliable in the moment you get to this screen, as for accurate HR reading you need some time (minutes?). So what is the point in having this extremely slow and inaccurate data screen just next to the basic watch face?! I’d appreciate more the weather/baro or compass screen.

And yes, I know that you can customize screens in sport modes. But there are times you just don’t need to record data and you could still benefit from having data you care about readily available without having to scroll endlessly to get to it.

It’s exactly why I was wishing to reorder … when I want to access the ALTIMETER not only I have to do several move down but I’m blocked by the Heart Rate screen which make me wait until he does have captured the signal … as if I was entering in some glue and has to move my feet super slowly to exit it

Why have I done these recent efforts on this forum ?
The reason is simple

1. I’m super happy to see that SUUNTO is releasing upgrade with new features
2. but … I’m super concerned that the last recent are also very cosmetics and marketing … the 2 last watch faces … sorry but I do not like them …
   the SUNTO Plus screen … sorry again but all for me are useless … in mountain ski or run activities …except of course of this super interresting SUUNTO PLUS Weather screen where you can see the sunset time and also how many hours it remains, the temperature and the barometrics details …

The reason is simple and multiple

• I already have customized the SPORT modes
  see my post here where I indicated the ones I have created and for which reason :

but …

If you see in the sport mode, none have the capacity to show you the COMPASS until and unless you have setup a course

Also, very often when you go in mountain you have not prepared earlier in advance some POI or ROUTE … and for exemple you want to look to your paper map and just get the name of a mountain that you can point with the compass … so having it immediately will be an advantage

This is why for me having the COMPASS immediatelly available wich is easy to obtain will be a great bonus.

The exact same for this new SUUNTO Plus weather screen, I would have to get it super fast to get the weather tendancy … I cannot until I firstly setup an exerise … .that make me loose time and moreover that I will have to destroy after use … just count the number of actions it take for such…
