I recently updated my S9 Baro to 2.16.26 and noticed that the backlight brightness was dimmer. I set the new settings to High and it still seemed too dim. I reverted the firmware back to 2.14.16 and now I have my brightness back. I think suunto needs to add a MAX above high in the next firmware release. OR is there another setting that I am missing for some reason. 100% brightness is critical for me when trail running in woods …

Thanks to other posters in the other backlight thread (for toggle issue) with the instructions to downgrade firmware (https://forum.suunto.com/topic/6592/backlight).

Still hanging on to 2.14.16. I have tested newer releases but keep reverting because of the limited brightness. Seeing some positive comments about ‘Raise to wake’ improvements in the next release and am interested. Anyone know if we will get our MAX brightness back with the next upcoming firmware? That extra bit of (lost) brightness makes a difference for me when I’m out in the woods trail running. Thanks
