Suunto 9 Baro Crashed During Exercise
-
@Matthew-Robertson I had exactly the same thing happen a few days ago whilst out running. After about 30 minutes I looked down after feeling a vibration from my watch to see it was back to the watch face and my activity had stopped. I restarted the activity but couldn’t get a GPS fix. All been fine since then, I did an hour or so last night with absolutely no issues. I’ve only recently switched to the 9 from a Spartan Ultra (which I do seem to remember did something similar when I first got it too).

@Matthew-Robertson and @JAHANDERSON
are you eventually using both SuuntoApp and MovescountApp in parallel ? it was the kind of issues it caused in the past. Should have been solved, but… -
hey guys, I am experiencing the same issue with my S9B. During a hike it crashed and the activity was saved without any ascent. In addiction it freezes almost four times a week with the classic arrow down and the dots, which proofs my nerves from crushing it under my feet. I tried the soft reboot and the hard way with the reset via suuntoLink. Nothing seems to work. Now my question is: Is the S9B faulty in general or is it just my model? I am still in the 30days from amazon and am sending it back… have to decide if I want to stick with Suunto or take a detour to G
-
@Mff73 Not that I’m aware of, only the SuuntoApp - though I did create a custom sports mode yesterday before running, which it then said it was disconnecting the watch from Movescount (which I hadn’t connected it too in the first place unless it does so automatically!)
-
really strange.
With Spartan Ultra it happened to me once, a few months after its release, in late 2016, when the software was really immature.
With s9, which I have been using for more than a year, however, it has never happened to me.
After sending the logs, if I were you I would do a hard reset directly -
@Vincenzo-Ucciero
it’s definitely not a general problem with this watch, but if you’ve tried hard reset and it happens so often, I think yours is malfunctioning.I would advise you to try to return it to amazon and have it replaced, before moving on to the G
-
So far, never happened to me. I have been using my S9 since August last year.
-
so it’s my watch then. I’ll send it over and give Suunto another try. thanks guys
-
@Vincenzo-Ucciero You have a faulty watch. I would return it to Amazon. I had 356 exercises in 2019 with my S9 and no crashes.
-
@Vincenzo-Ucciero S9 never crash for me. Amazon have to response for faulty unit.
-
One fellow is saying the same in a Facebook group, he updated Suunto app and the problem didn’t show again.
But for me S+ never crashed.

Perhaps I experienced a fluke. Subsequent runs went without a hitch.
