GPS position anomaly

Dear Customer Relation,
I’ve been training with suunto device since many years my first model was a T3 with podometer.
I’ve to write this post with great regret as the performance had a major failure. Due to COVID-19 restriction is since a month I’m running in the garden around the house, first time I noticed a very strange thing between runs on different days and hours. I’ve calculated the run/Km on the track that are 7 and I’ve noted that some time at the end of 5km between two different runs there was a difference sometimes 34 or 36 total tour.
This disappointed to me not so much as that only meant there was a discrepancy on the GPS releive position of 200 meter over 5KM.
Neverthless today i decided to compare the same run on the same track overlap with the Suunto Spartan Wrist Hr and the GPS running on the app strava on the Phone One plus 7.
Here it come the thing the two run same laps 34 had a complete different chronology, with suuno app I registered 5,02Km meanwhile with Strava on the Phone 6,87Km which is a complete different record.
As now it difficult to justify such a difference with and error of positioning or single case I’ve called the customer care but bad connection and assumption made by your employee didn’t permit to further analyze the issue.
I believe that’s all I need to find a differene device as its lack of reliability is unjustified! -
@Massimo-Labozzetta this is a community forum, not support. Here you can talk with other users, some of them even Suunto testers, many of them knowing A LOT, and try to understand and in many cases fix your issues. If you want to contact support, check Suunto’s website and you’ll find how to contact them.

@Massimo-Labozzetta
This was somehow already discussed. It could be due to different factors.https://forum.suunto.com/topic/4223/lockdown-setting-suunto-9

@sartoric thanks I’ve read all the arguments, the other post seems well populated , but conclusion Is that terrace run wont fit with Suunto, the app on telephone overestimate so cannot be realiable…I tell you that I’m like everyone in Italy confined since 6th March, I’ve been running around the house since then, but even many tournabout due tontrack, I was training for a half Marathon Just before the 6th March,and my pace was 5:20…suddenly in the garden it come to 8:00. I cannot explain that change neither I wasn’t fit at this time as that goes on all over a month. Today I’ve tried to compare with the sale track on Strava and come out that my overage pace was back 5:40…what to say, the phone worked Better this my assumption but we can proved with gpx

@Massimo-Labozzetta
Phones usually work better in term of GPS reception
And usually it’s not recommended to use GPS on track, especially if you have a lot of turning, since distance is approximated.
The more the track is made by curves, the more the resulting distance is an approximation.
