Is it possible to add a new type of activity ? : Running stairs.
Actualy no type of activity of Movescount or SUUNTO APP is really adapted : running, obstacle racing, crossfit, other etc.
In this activity, we need to monitoring precisely time and round (sequenses up and down), heart rate, and elevation. I know, we do so quicky that sensor not detect variation. And sometime you re indoor or under a roof like in stadium. An other exemple to allow users to edit elevation, no ? 🙂
Perhaps it could be possible to allow users to custom an activity and give it a name other than “unspecified sport”. il could be great !

Looking at the Suunto App sport mode customisation, the only thing I notice is “Other6” … maybe try customising that one and disable GPS for indoor/under a roof activities on the watch before starting the activity (swipe down on the Exercise start screen for options).

Yes it s possible, i know, but we can t change the name…
When you see that cheerleading (majorette in french) or roller skiing, or frisbee exist ! Note i have nothing against thoses activities of course ! so i think that running stairs could find a place in original SUUNTO list of activities.

@FredMt I’ve added a custom indoor activity on my Peak 9 Pro.
I just want it for indoor use while climbing our office tower when getting bored at work.
So if tried to add some of the hight messurement but they doesn’t seem to work.
Maybe they need GPS + Baro? But GPS Indoor doesn’t make sense.
A standard Running Stairs aktivity would be great too.

@Ecki-D which watch? The barometer can record ascent and descent without GPS. Also altitude (although without auto-calibration, so it may suffer).

@isazi It now works on my Peak 9 Pro. I used Climbing and added a new personal mode, turned of gps as I use it indoors. It is quite okay but maybe it would be better to choose a different sport mode as base.
