what can the suunto app do??

what can the suunto app do?? comming from movescount, the suunto app has sooooo little to offer and it’s really starting to bother me! most things the app shows me i can also see on my watch. but i can no longer plan exercises or follow programs like with movescount. the 3d video’s from movescount are now by a different app for wich you have to pay. I feel like since it moved to suunto app the watch is less usefull then before. I can’t believe thats the intention, so am i doing something wrong here? is there something i haven’t found out yet? just 1 app and corresponding website should be enough right? #keyboardwarrioroff

@Jörgen-Hofman Short answer is EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERM VERY LITTLE!!!.. Also didn’t know you now have to pay for a feature we get for FREE in movescount!!! Jeez how many more backward steps are Suunto taking??? Anyway basically Suunto app feels like the nail in the coffin for Suunto due to it’s LACK of functions and now money grabbing stance on features that are free in movescount!!!

Thats is how it should be but suunto seems to think this is all wrong!!!
But hey what do we know??? -
@lohtse I use the free version of Relive (that does a better job than the Movescount movie in my opinion) and that’s fine. Yes there’s a premium version you have to pay for (if you want to add music, make long movie etc…) but you don’t have to (and the premium features were not features of Movescount movie).
But yeah you do need to use another app, it’s not within SA.
Same goes for me for the data analysis, I currently use Runalyze (free also).I don’t agree when you say SA does very little, it does way more than Movescount App (route planning, offline sync… there are already a lot of posts about it). And yes the “SA website” is needed, it’s the most voted feature of this forum. In the meantime there are FREE 3rd party app to do the job, very well if you ask me.
I can only speak from my experience, so the above is for a S9 baro.

Thank you for your comments, For me and many others it’s about using a SINGLE app to do everything and movescount whilst not perfect it pretty much did it all, the only features I ever wanted was route planning and poi adding and thats the only area that suunto app has improved on… But as an Ambit user I can’t change or edit sports modes, settings, use sensors(tempe,hrm etc) on their own, create moves videos without paying, set notifications per app, missing charts for various features and the list goes on… Like I have stated in many other threads Suunto has taken a step forward and 10 steps back. I don’t understand why they just didn’t take the MC app and revamp it with new features and interface…

HI and good morning. Lets keep this conversation on existing threads please.
From an Ambit user perspective, I understand that you miss tons of things so please if possible add also the watch you are using when making a post , for me and others.
Thanks guys, and have a great start of the week.

@lohtse
is the transfer of planned routes from SA to A3 possible now?
I tried it couple of weeks back and I could not manage to do it. -
All I know is that Suunto App can’t do any of the things I am still using Movescount for. The only one feature that is somewhat valuable to me is route editor, but I can’t imagine planning day long trail runs on a tiny phone screen having to zoom in and out all the time, and it doesn’t support waypoints.
Everything else that I care about in Movescount is not even remotely there in SA.
What it gives to me is a very poor copy of Strava features that I don’t need because I already have Strava, plus some silly ranking of my activities against other activities, but I can’t imagine anyone caring about those except may be some people who just started running a month or two ago.
