Important: is your S9/S5/Spartan AGPS up-to-date when Syncing with the Suunto app?
-
Hi, any idea if AGPS sync works with Suuntolink?
I could reset my watch (avoid using Routes and Sports Customizations) and use SA sync and then MC (for AGPS)BR
-
Hello.
Synchro done through SA Android with 2 different smart phone, one for S9 and another one for S5.
Date was up to date but time was with “T00:00:00Z” for both S9 and S5 (synchro done at the very same time)
-
on my SSU date blocked on 21/07
-
@Rob33 me too (2019-07-21T12:05:01Z), did you use SA sync and cable/Suuntolink?
-
@suzzlo Mine was blocked on some old date until I synced with movescount app which was able to update the AGPS (and delete all my custom sport modes:)). Now it works with SuuntoApp as well (tried few minutes ago). But it’s true that time is allways T00:00:00Z so I don’t know if it’s correct or not.
-
@Zdeněk-Hruška I think, I have read in this forum that hour is not important T00:00:00Z. The key is that date moves ahead…

Hi, I never had problem with this, but today i had N/A even after soft reset and waiting … I needed to go back to pc and with SuuntoLink I got at least 2019-07-21T12:05:01Z (so few days old) … Spartan Sport, Software 2.8.24, Suunto app on Android 9 version 4.2.4.
And then after run and sync with Suunto App I got N/A again …
-
@suzzlo Ok, thanks, I thought so. Then I can say that the sync with movescount definitely helped in my case. It seems that suunto app is unable to update AGPS for some reason. It gets stuck at one point and leaves the old file there. Maybe some bug in update procedure code. However movescount can deal with it and afterwards suunto app is able to do the update again. But I don’t know if this solution can help everyone.

I’m also stuck in 21/07/2019. And I started to see the tips in the watch recommending to update the AGPS.
In my experience, the file is starting to be quite old and tracks will start to become shitish.
From what I’ve read in other parts S5/S9 are updating but Spartans are stuck in 21/07/2019.
I’ve tried to update with SA, MC and SL, and after soft reset too but nothing.Maybe @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos can give some light?
BTW I have a SSU
-
@cosmecosta Mine is stuck on 2019-07-18T00:00:00Z on Suunto 5. But I guess suunto is working on it.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos did we need to change thread name? I asume Spartans are affected, so perhaps changing name could help people…
-
Lets do that

Today I unwillingly joined the club. Today my SSU (2.8.24) was no longer counting steps. So I did a soft reset (12s upper button press). Afterwards aGPS was N/A and stayed this way. Syncing via SA (4.6.0) did not change that, even though SA stated that is was optimizing GPS. Connecting the SSU via Suunto Link provided me with aGPS dated 2019-07-231T12:05:01Z.
-
@suzzlo me three. I checked mine and it was 21st July, then attempted to update/sync via SA and waited about 15 min, checked version and it was the same. Did the 12s reset and the version changed to N/A, synced with SA and waited 15 min, still N/A. Then I tried SL and now my SSU is stuck in an “Optimizing GPS performance” loop on SL. Updating with SA does nothing.
Maybe I will force-flash the watch when it charges up and try again, but I don’t really want to set up my custom sport modes and custom HR zones again . -

I do not see why a reflash of the firmware will help.
Try with MC mobile, probably you will get 21/07/2019
-
@cosmecosta yes, you are right - I tried reflashing and finally got at least 21/7/2019 instead of N/A, and Suuntolink is still in a loop.
-
Thank you very much @cosmecosta and @fejker for these last comments and trying.

Anytime @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos. I hope Suunto finds a fix as soon as possible if not I’m still going to run, with a bad track but running, that eventually is what matters.
