Stuck spartan trainer
-
Hello,
Since more than 2 hours, my spartan trainer is stuck, displaying the time. No press to the buttons has any effect, nor connecting it to the computer with cable, it also won’t connect via bluetooth.
I searched the forum and tried a variety of single and double button resets to no avail.
Connecting a cable to charge has no effect either (no sound or vibration), though I can’t say whether it is charging or not…
Any idea other than waiting for it to discharge (if I remember well it was 85% this morning, and without light, heart rate or gps it could take a week to empty) ? -
@martin Connect it to a PC via SuuntoLink and Force reset?
-
@martin
I suppose you’ve already tried the soft reset too (press upper button for 12 seconds) -
@jean-william-cousin Connection to a PC has no effect, and suuntolink doesn’t see the watch as connected…
-
@sartoric yes, that and also a more obscure 2 button variant found on another thread, but no sound, vibration or anything, the watch still displays the time of when it went off
-
I think on Spartan Trainer is 15s on 2 upper buttons to make a soft reset.
-
@Mi_chael Well, 12s on the upper left button usually is enough, but this time nothing will do…

@martin
When you connect the cable to the watch, suuntolink recognizes it ? Does it pop-up?
If yes you can try to re-flash -
@martin
Not with my wife Trainer’s.
But it works nice with my Ultra, Baro and S9 -
@sartoric nothing happens when I plug the watch in the computer, watch is still stuck and the computer does not recognise anything has been plugged in
-
@martin
Same câble as your other watches ? -
I had exactly the same issue!
It was a week after I bought my Trainer so just to be sure that everything is OK, I’ve send it to support.
Two weeks later I got it back and technician wrote that he basically didn’t do anything, when he got it, the battery was dead, so he charged it, done some tests and send it back.
The reason for the problem is still unknown, thought my Trainer never hanged again (for the last year or so). -
@Mff73 haven’t got any other watches or other cable, but the coincidence of a stuck watch + faulty cable at the same time seems rathr unrealistic…

@Łukasz-Bobrek
Yes, hopefully it will end that way, but I have yet to wait until the watch fully discharges from about 85% this morning without light or activity to drain it… -
Fortunately the battery drained faster than I expected and after charging the watch is back to normal operation.
I don’t know whether it was the cause but I ended up deleting movescount app from my mobile, though I never had any problem with using both…
