Maps update will be slowly rolled out country by country. It may take weeks before you receive an update.

Updates should be visible in your Suunto App, like this:

Click update, confirm download on the watch (or better put it on charger) and you will start updated map download

If you country/place on the list below but you cannot see an update - wait for the next mobile app update.

What’s changed

OpenStreetMap data updated to Feb-Mar 2026
Elevation contour lines available up to 2-5km zoom range (for those countries which used to miss it, for some EU countries it was fixed already last year)
Smoother elevation contour lines
Additional POI types included (Yes, map data already and always contained some POIs, but with this update more types than before)
Adding many previously missing Caribbean islands, as well as Bermudas, Falkland Islands, Comores, American Oceania
Caribbean and Oceania regions were reorganized so that smaller island nations are grouped together

Some islands, like Canary islands, Madeira, some Caribbean islands are missing elevation contour lines
Some eastern Americas states/countries are missing contour line, to be investigated
Some POI types, like parking areas and trash bins, are overly dense in cities and will be reviewed for removal or optimization in the next update
