      No watch is perfect, and the 9PP is no exception. It struggles with structured training, the text size sometimes makes it difficult to read, and there was a recent bug with the navigation screen, among other things. But after two and a half years on my small wrist, I have to say that overall, I still really like it. I’m still captivated by its minimalist design, how well it fits, its robustness, and the feel of the materials. Let’s say I’d give it an 8/10.

      But with the Black Friday sales and any additional discounts I might be able to get, the Race S comes to around €270. And while a change isn’t a priority for me, I´m considering switching to the Race S.

      That’s why I’m asking for your experiences and opinions if you’ve made the jump from the 9PP to the Race S.

      Thanks! 😊

        @enriqueescoms Not exactly, but I switched from 9P to Race S. I don’t like to have the limited Always On Display all the AMOLED watches have, also build quality was better on 9P. On the plus there is the bigger screen and the maps.
        If you often do Hiking or Trailrunning the Maps alone are worth it. If you have no problem with Raise to wake, then the Race S is absolutely a big step up

          @enriqueescoms same here, planning for an upgrade anytime soon. In my case, I still LOVE the 9PP but I find myself pulling out my phone to check maps too often during hikes. My wallet was ready for the Vertical 2, but no MIP no trick, hence the Coros Apex 4 is clearly ahead.

            @fv4500 Vertical 1 is discounted, so maybe thats also an option. It wasn’t for me, because of the weight. Race S is really lightweight for the size

              @enriqueescoms Hi !
              I not “directly” use the 9PP, but my wife does. And on my side I use SV1 and SRs.
              For me you can consider the SRs as a mini SV1/2. Display is far better than S9pp, bigger, brighter of course with amoled. Maps on SRs are really awesome and are an absolute game changer compare to S9pp (screen resolution is great in comparison with SV)
              Construction is lest builky (no sapphyre) but it’s still very good.
              S9pp suffer is age and miss some late updates (like bip countdown and rep counter with structured workouts ; not implemented yet…I begin to doubt it will be).

              The things I “regret” comparing my SRs with SV/S9PP are linked to amoled /HW:

              • I don’t like the crown
              • no personnal battery modes (touchscreen navigation not possible in sports modes)
              • no AOD unless big battery loss
              • autonomy of SRs for daily use : HR and sleep tracking, with some exercice, backlight to low, AOD off and raise to wake ON, SPO2 ON, is a little under S9pp (in exercice battery life is excellent, better than S9pp).

              For the rest, the SRs is nice, very confortable and I use it a lot as a daily watch

                @VoiGAS thanks for the heads up. For similar price tags the Vertical 1 seems severly outdated compared with the Apex 4, feature wise. Thinking about it… For me, AMOLED is not an option.
