Software Update 2.48.16 (2025 November Rain release)

Unlike the sleep log those times are not individual lines, but rather the left and the right end of the graph. In the automatic report and the sleep log they look both the same. But there are additional lines for the time fall asleep and wakeup in the sleep log.
That’s not the case on 9PP.
In the automatic report, bedtime and wake-up times do not appear in text and there is no graph.
In the sleep log, the hours are shown in text on 2 separate lines but not on the graph which is a summary of sleep hours for the last 7 days. -

@Egika as @Horizontal_2 wrote I meant the airplane mode.
got it now.
Can say that in testing FW this one is already changed now -
@fondueaufromage ok, if the 9PP has no graph at all those information are missing, indeed…

@Armin-M is this a watch issue or the SA? I imagine an SA issue (as it works after rebooting the phone). There is a new beta SA (it just got updated). I’ll see if this changes anything.
Btw. In my case, it seems that the sync stops if you are using different activities (in my case Alpine Skiing and indoor exercise). I did not have any problems until I started switching (winter has started (-:)). -
@MdzOtt sync connection seems to be stable after I downgraded the watch firmware to 2.44.52, before, I just had an empty watch icon in the upper left corner of the SA.

According with other forums we aren’t done yet and Q4 should arrive in a few days

Any news ?

@Antoine soon

-
@Antoine well, last year’s Q4 release was on December 16, 2024 (Monday). So maybe Monday December 15, 2025, could be a good guess…
Maybe (hopefully) they use the weekend for running automated regression testing to ensure that there are no major bugs left.

@Likarnik or Suun.
-
@Armin-M The problem still exists with the new (beta) SA (6.5.9). However, you don’t need to reboot the phone, just the app (I Force Stopped). After that it syncs again.
-
@MdzOtt I’m back on FW 2.44.52 since 3 days now and the connection remains stable. That’s a clear indicator to me that the FW update broke this.
With the current FW, I only closed all aps which didn’t help, but that may not be the same as the force stop you mention.
-
@Armin-M closing the app (even from “all apps” screen did not help. Force stopping (from settings ->apps) does work.

@Calando Hey,
I faced the same issue as you and opened a thread about it, that got moved now to the “Race 2” section, if you want to chime in:
https://forum.suunto.com/topic/14254/bug-race-2-if-you-set-pace-zones-they-disappear-as-intensity-zones-targets -
OK, the more I use the watch, the more bugs I find. But this one is trivially annoying. Every connection to my SV’s app (iOS) ends up erasing all previously saved routes. I quickly found a way to deal with this on a temporary basis. You have to go to the route list in the app, swipe your finger, and forced synchronization begins (initially, I can’t see the routes in the list either). This probably isn’t the way to go if the app doesn’t include saved routes in the general synchronization section (everything was fine until now). Maybe I overlooked something, if so, please help. Otherwise, it must be another bug in the new update.

@Likarnik how about changing the company name to Soon-to.

@Egika said in Software Update 2.48.16 (2025 November Rain release):
Battery drain can generally be caused by certain systems not properly switching off after use.
One is external BT sensors.
Another one could be the GPS chip (and possibly navigation calculation) staying alive after cancelling an activity, etc.
I know that the devs are aware that there are still issues in certain cases and that they will of course be fixed.In business there is a saying that “time kills deals”. I think that also waiting months for a fix that is somehow pushing people towards alternative offerings which is like losing business.
I assume there is something being baked (like a new firmware) but having a standing issue for soooo long without any official statement/acknowledgment etc (it exists for several months now) is disappointing .
I do see people that were supporting this forum (somehow related to Suunto) not being as active/responsive or enthusiastic in posting anymore … I do understand (or assume) there are reasons behind that but the current situation is sub-optimal .

@Mads-Hintz-Madsen it’s fortanated the update isn’t there yet. Maybe they havo almost fixced that one bug. Hopfully later this week!
-
I think that the two top issues are:
- Battery drain due to BT devices (I personally don’t suffer from this, but just reading forums)
- HRM totally insane in cold conditions (This renders most of the metrics totally irrelevant).
For me, #2 is more important because on the Vertical 2 the HRM is generally very accurate. It’s just that losing sync is the reason most users eventually hit #1 (HRM belt with BT).
-
Furthermore, there’s the issue with the heart rate monitor strap, which inexplicably loses connection and won’t reconnect. This has been happening since the last update. This is unacceptable! I’ve ordered two new straps, but the same problem persists. It’s been an issue since the last update, and not just with the Vertical 2, but also with the Race 2. Additionally, the ability to save custom sport modes in the app has been missing for years, preventing the need to reconfigure everything after a crash, a new watch purchase, or a reset.
