@dulko79 you can check HR here https://forum.suunto.com/topic/13617/ohr-accuracy-of-owners-of-race-2/21 from todays ride.

      And regarding battery:
Best GPS, OHR, Medium brightnes, AOD on, No navigation (map off, not even breadcrumb). But take into consideration it was relatively short activity only 1,5h. So it may not be as accurate calculation.

      Screenshot from 2025-09-28 13-33-11.png
So it was around 3.7% per hour

Edit: Suunto 5 and 5 Peak i used today, both of them recorded 19.1km, by mapy.com it was 19.2km. Suunto Race 2 recorded only 17.7km. But it was caused by Suunto Bike Pod. Because looking just at GPS track. Comparing to satelite images on google map. Suunto Race 2 was much more precise than older Suunto 5.

Would be great to have recovery percentage as a complication on the main watch face (or every watch face). That’s the only info I would like to see every time I see the watch face but it’s only available as a widget 😕

@Egika I read that Race 2 is faster. Can you tell any difference for example in raise to wake with AOD off?

Each day is a new experience. OHR failed somehow.

Edit: I checked the map and the reading stopped when I entered a building. I would expect the GPS to drop, not HR.

@vjakub i have no other amoled watch to compare. It is ok but still it is not instant. You can notice few miliseconds lag.

Depends on what you are expecting to see
If you want an new watchface - would be about 2 years😇 and only with the release of new Race3 @649EUR, proudly designed by finnish AI and brand new chinese materials such as bullet proof plasticum body and steelum or titanum bezel 💪🤭
But if you are unsatisfied with lags of digital crown, accent colours scheme bug on main widget, or SuuntoPlus stopwatch, etc. since the latest update is already released, the new firmware update will take a litle less than 2 years

Perhaps more positiveness would with the new Race3?
Since Race1 and 24 months of “intensive work” on the firmware, resulted in one unique UI progress of emoji support, same old UI with same bugs in Race2 @600EUR for what? for launching Race S in 2025 with 49mm with +50EUR budget for what? nothing done, “new” 2025’s sensors with old UI and old bugs, should be at least less -150EUR as compensation for not having done anything.
Only tree updates was done, increased price, reduced costs with lower quality in Race2 and Vertical2

@tas2581 For me the Vertical 2 is a disappointment, because it is just a Race 2.5
But the Race 2 is a good evolution of the Race 1. Smaller and lighter - but with a bigger and better screen. Whats not to like - except maybe the price…

                          Yes, agree with you
But Vertical2 is not an Race 2.5, it is the same original Race1! maybe Race 1.1 but with 3 prehistoric buttons and one new watchface😇
Display is only 1mm bigger, but much darker in Race2. It is not lighter it is 5grams less but at the cost of plastic body instead of metal. Digital crown works better and more precisely in Race1. After almost 20 years of blind loyalty to the suunto brand, feels deceived for having purchased downgraded and overpriced titanium stone made of plastic in 2025. Instead of Race2 should have been considered galaxy watch ultra with digital crown and smooth pleasant UI, real interaction with smartphone, voice calls instead of primitive “watch connection”.
Samsung is more generous with ultimate hardware, features and full titanium body @549EUR only🤑

                            It all happened so quickly.
My father’s 9 Baro watch died a few days before his birthday. He loved design of my Race1.
Received a notification from the Suunto app about the launch of the Race 2, was almost “forced” to offer my Race.
ordered Race2 but received an simplified version of 49mm Race S, priced like an Race3, but with same old bugs of Race1 in 2023.
                            Was eluded by sponsored youtubers,
was too fast and too much confidedent in suunto😇
                            Race2 was waste of 600EUR
Should buy another Race for my father or moved to samsung. I’m not much demand to battery life, 3-4 days is OK for me.
In 2023 had more money to waste but was super happy from the first attempt purchased Race1, today I have no chance to buy another, and nobody wants my Race2 even at 399EUR

@tas2581 the YouTube reviews are not “sponsored.” I find the Race 2 a big improvement on Race 1, which was too bulky and a bit heavy for me. The Race 2 is so light and comfortable that I can easily wear it sleeping. I prefer it over my Race S as the battery life is long enough that I can run a 100 mile ultra without worry. My only issue is the crown, which is hard to use in winter with bulky gloves while ski mountaineering. The OHR is so much better that I can use it for all but interval running. I am confident that future updates will provide features that will not be available on the Race 1 firmware. Not clear on why you think the Race 2 is a waste, it certainly is not a simplified version of the Race S and most of the bugs that appeared with the Race 1 have been resolved.

@Brad_Olwin They’re sponsored with free watches, usually received before the official premiere. And this doesn’t just apply to watches; it also applies to cameras, drones, and other electronics.

That’s why the reviews are always so enthusiastic. And those who talk too much about problems don’t receive the equipment the next time – these are the reports from people testing photographic equipment. But the principle behind such tests is always the same: They’re more of a marketing video than an independent test…

@Brad_Olwin very curious to see what will be implemented on SR2 that’s HW dependent and could not be ported to SR1. Maybe Suunto will convince me to upgrade my SR1🤩

@SergioB It’s better to wait for real improvements and new features (plus bug fixes) before purchase than to rely on vague assurances and promises. Suunto has made many promises that it hasn’t delivered.

@maszop AFAIK, most testers return watches and then purchase their own for continued review. That includes DCRainmaker, DesFit, and I believe Matt LeGrand. Don’t know about Chase the Summit. They are attempting to remain impartial although I think some of them are more impartial than others. I have found them generally accurate especially with issues about watches that I have. So, I think your wholesale opinion is quite negative and largely incorrect. DCRainmaker particularly is clear to say the test watches he receives are returned.
