Re: Suunto Race S altitude issues during activity
I think I have a similar issue. Although I don’t see those specific spikes on the graphs, but more of one (or multiple) individual instant drops of altidute (even in the order of hundreds of meters in a sec) like in the image below, the result is ascent/descent data way way off. Initially the watch worked kinda good on hikes and quite poorly on bike rides but I thought that it was a wind related issue on bike descents and I can accept that. But to get such huge difference from reality on a normal hike with very stable weather and no wind is not acceptable, so I initially thought of dirt…I checked the sensor holes to be sure they were clean and submerged the watch for a while to clean it as well but nothing changed. What could be causing this?

Anyone had similar issues and have any idea on how to fix?

This is from the latest day tour I did, a mountain hike with a iv^ rocky ridge of about 2km. As previous report all this is happening with good weather, little to no wind at all. Watch software is latest Race S update available.

What’s even more strange is that they are always drops of about 100m. At least those visible on the graph. 6329m is the reported ascension when in reality it was more around 1800m. Differece is huge, but overall graph looks correct (max altitude is correct as well as the starting altitude).
