Suunto Run + New Strap

@mabe2k Same. I love Vertical look. Don’t like bright titanium in Race and all black easy to scratch.

I’ll just paste it here…

-
We might get acces to the interval counter with the Suunto app
-
@Cédric at last ! Improvements seem very cool !
That’s the only thing I really miss on my SV and SRs.
I also hope there will be 5sec bip countdown to next step ! -

Official release next week?
-
@Tieutieu I hope so too. My Suunto Race is great, but it’s missing these small features.
Maybe we’ll get an answer next week.

Which features are you seeing in the Run you want on your Race? If it’s software related (like the local music), then I’m hoping that will be addressed by a software update to give parity for Race people.

@isazi I know about the currently supported devices and I’m not worried the support will drop instantly.
I simply doubt that 3.x will be ported to current devices. I suspect there are some important changes that require new hardware, hence the jump to next major version.

@raven rep counter of reps for native structured workouts
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel as I have seen FCC filings this will leave the Run as the only watch to have 3.x for a while. I doubt that. Unless the 3.x is really a dialed back release, with limited sports profiles and so…

For strength workouts, it counts reps and sets? Or do you mean a different modality?
-
@raven I just guess for running activities, when using integrated structured workouts (example : 2 series of 10x30’/30’). No idea for strength workouts.

-
@Cédric that’s what I was referring to !

@Tieutieu @raven Indeed, I use my watch only for running, and the interval counter feature is so basic that I still don’t understand how it’s not available in the Suunto app.
Same for the countdown timer.Apologies for being slow on the uptake here. So the situation is the new Run has these features that the Race and Race S does not? So far my running with my Race S has been either unstructured or “improv” based on my current HR or reading from ZoneSense (i.e. stay in a specific range). And it’s believed these features won’t be back ported?
-
@raven we don’t know, run is not out officially, and no update has been announced for other watches. We’re just making guesses !

Ah, I originally asked: “ Which features are you seeing in the Run you want on your Race?” And thought there was a “known” feature being discusses.

On the Amazon website, there’s an image showing an interval counter for the Suunto Run.

Thanks, Cedric, I’ll go and take another look. I’d hope / expect this would be backported. Apparently though I may be in the minority as some people seem to think Suunto is mostly incapable of adding features to existing devices.
