Suunto ZoneSense

@Sergei-Ladeishchikov
There is no “should”.
Just if ZoneSense has data that leads to adjusting the threshold it will look this this:

So, ZoneSense is a way to get rid of zones, and have another metric to separate aerobic/anaerobic/VO2max efforts during a workout.
Maybe I do not get the exact point of ZoneSense, but if I go out running some reps, there is at least one activity screen that shows both time/distance field and HR data, i.e., the “old” HR zones.
I’ve just tried the ZoneSense app and, as expected, the “new” zones are shown as aerobic/anaerobic/VO2max but, even by changing the data fields through the upper button, neither time nor distance data are shown: so, how to workout some reps without the need of changing activity screen to check distance/time and zones?

I can comment on this as well. During testing I “ran” 3 4300 m peaks one day after another for 3 consecutive days. By the third day I was fatigued and the Zone Sense aerobic HR had dropped significantly in the post analysis. This will be extremely helpful in real time when racing as it will allow you to change effort to avoid the ultra death march.
I have one more peak long weekend before my 100 on the 5th. May just have to give this exact scenario a go

@Matúš
Not sure what your specific training looks like.
But different data screens can be pre-selected in the Suunto app:
-
@Egika where do you find this in the app?

silly question (?) : S+ app is mandatory to give this zonesense insights ?
i might answer myself, but would need to be sure of the relationsMy wife is using Suunto HR Belt with RR and not this new ZoneSense app --> i see this zone sense graphs for her recent activities.
I am using Polar VeritySense (without RR transmitted to Suunto i guess) --> i don’t see such zone sense graphsRR belt mandatory, not S+app, right ?

I would have expected such a functionality from Polar, not from Suunto. Kudos for this!
I just did a 2:20h gravel ride at a low intensity level (base endurance). 80% in zone 1, 20% in lower zone 2 (the uphills). I was definitely not working hard, I was relaxed and not fatigued. But the S+ app showed me, that I was 1 hour anaerobic and 15min at vo2max. So I was curios what SA would display. According to SA, I was all the time in the aerobic zone. I am no expert, but according to the HR data, to my subjective feeling my recent training and my general feeling today, SA is correct.
I guess it’'s still early days for ZoneFuse and there might be some issues with the S+ app. What are the experiences of the testers? Does the S+ app align with the data displayed in SA after the workout? In my first test the data was completely different,
By the way, the UI of the S+ app is well made, good readability. I think this layout (or something similar) would also work great for structured workouts.
Any plans to combine ZoneFuse with structured workouts or with the intensity zone selection? Or using the ZoneFuse zones gauge instead of the HR gauge around the data screens (of course configurable, maybe even as an activity setting during workout)?

The benefit of the S+ app is that that’s how you access real-time ZoneSense measurements during an activity (and availability limited to just the newest generation of sportwatches).
For post-activity analysis, no S+ app is needed to be enabled, only that you’ll have to wear a RR belt. So ZoneSense will be available after a (qualifying) workout ends even if you have a much older Suunto watch.

Just would like to express here my surprise to see such good feature coming to our watches/App
It makes training easier and more efficient without relying to hardly defined zones that sometimes could fluctuate every day or so.
Schedule was perfect before I switch back to my polar H10 belt from verity sense few weeks ago and yesterday I had a big restaurant party with friends. I ran today and I found it harder than usual indeed and it was nicely reflected in the Zonesense detection
Also I would like to thanks Suunto for adding NGP as a data filed into the ZS app!! this is huge for trail getting NGP/HR and the ZS graph I have a complete overview of what i need for training
I second the request of @taziden that in a future update being able to use ZS zones instead of HR/PACE on all Watches activity screen
Suunto, once again, made my day

Any information when will ZoneSense be available for Suunto Ocean?
-
@Egika I feel comfortable saying this has the potential to be fuckin’ rad. To put it in en-us. Supergeil, de, really quite something, in en-gb.
Amazing how much effort was put into the lecture series, 2h is a lot of content to produce!
I’m looking forward to comparing this to SMO2 data.
Edit: a seriously under-sung feature is that this works for swimming. Swimming receives so little attention for analytics, with its equivalent of FTP/VO2Max the CSS test being mostly as far as it goes. (Excluding Form, who are in their own special league.)

I must say, kudos to Suunto, this does look really promising!

Possibly silly question… Is Zonesense really only of use / interest to the ‘more athletic’ amongst us (i.e. not me…)?
I do 3 or 4 x 35 min cardio sessions / week (generally - occassionally a longer (several hours) session in Z1/2), combined with 3x 1 hour cross training sessions.
Is this of use to me, or more for people who are frequently doing Ultra Marathons, UMTBs, 5 peaks, Triathlons etc? i.e. should I just stick with my 5 HR zones? -
And now I could not be happier that I purchased the HR belt two weeks ago
-
This is absolutely fantastic! I can already see different aerobic thresholds for running and cycling for my recent activities and it’s significantly lower for cycling. Awesome stuff ️
-
First 90 minute run, did exactly what I would expect it to. Was very hot and humid so the app set my aerobic threshold well below my zone 2 max previously set.
PLEASE fully bake this in
- Option to use this to define the intensity zone rings so I’m restricted to just the app page
- Option to calculate TSS based on time spent in each of these zones (TSS will be a lot less useful now for those of us that decide to leverage this new functionality)
-
@stromdiddily yes, moving it from SP to main would be amazing, as would being able to set its target zone. It’s a lot like what Stryd does with environmental power, but for more than running.

First run today with the new ZoneSense…
Can anybody explain whats going on here!Aerobic Zone Green with heart rate 180!!!
Later the graph from ZoneSense is Red with 180 bpm… And finally we have Red graph With 170 bpm… Suunto Smart Sensor! And the anaerobic Treshhold is 190???
Never ever. My lactat Treshhold in lab test in running was 175! Like its set in the watch! Please whats going on here 🫣
