Rest until lap button pressed on intervals
-
When configuring intervals from the watch, you can select two types of duration for rest: time or distance.
It would be convenient to be able to select a third type “Press the Lap button”, as is offered on structured workouts. But it would be very practical to be able to do it directly from the watch without creating a complex structured workout from the application that needs to be synchronized. -
I would like to revive this subject, because it seems to me to be a quick win: it would have strong added value by providing a little more flexibility in the creation of interval sessions directly from the watch, while not requiring a too much development effort since the operation is already implemented in the structured sessions.
I hope we can see it added in a future update

FYI this feature is available if building workouts using Intervals.icu. For any step, having the text “Press lap” makes it so the workout doesnt progress to the next step until you press the lap button. Obviously this would be great to have in the native Suunto interval builder and I support that feature as well. But in the meantime, there is an alternative work around

@Jonathan-Schwarz less complex but very good in practice Suuntoplus Apps -> “Manual intervals - running pace”.

@Maryn a major flaw of “manual intervals” is that rest screen doesn’t show a distance but time. In some cases distance is more useful
