[WATCH] Battery drain out quickly
-
@babychai Ok.
Batteries should never reach 100% or overcharge no matter how long you have it to charge it will always stop at 99%.
Trainers have less accurate batteries than the other Spartans. They measure on less precision.
I would not worry neither leave my watch plugged in when it’s 100% nor would I empty it.
Change full and deplete the battery 1nce per month
-
Apologies, but my SSWHR definitely charged up to 100% without any issues and more or less “steadily”. I saw 95%, left the watch for probably 15 more minutes, and there were 100% (used a USB-port from my PC … as I usually just let it “hang” after synchronizing the activities to MC).
-
@shrek3k WHR version is having different battery which calibration profile is more accurate. Do not compare with trainer.
Anyway everyone needs to do full battery cycle (full charge/discharge/charge) time from time to calibrate the battery, this will improve battery percentage information accuracy.
-
hello, i have done a full charge/discharge/charge cycle and the problem still continue. i lost 20% in 24h, and 40% during a 2h40 run.
I will try to downgrade the firmware to the v1.12.36 to see if the issue continue or not. -
@gabriel-s
well … do you have 24/7 HR and sleep enabled ?
20% in 24h doesn’t look so bad. It’s less then 1% per hour.
Watch-face ? -
Yes i have 24/24 HR enabled and the night i put the watch in DND mode.
The watch face is the outdoor like i have before the update, with the 1.12.36 version the watch loose 10/12% per day. -
@gabriel-s
Maybe you can try changing watch face before downgrade.
I always had the suspicion that the “outdoor” one is a bit “energy consuming” -
@slash Got any fastest way to discharge the battery? Kinda slow if i just let it deplete by itself
-
@babychai open GPS
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos Haha…noted, thanks
-
@babychai
… and turn light on
-
@frédéric-fiandino Got the same issue after update, it only charges to 99%. I did only chrage after it was completely dead 0%
-
@johnh after one full cycle of discharge/charge/discharge, the problem seem as though resolute
-
@johnh I would not worry at all about the 99% as said before it stops to get 100%
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos
alright, i just done discharge to 0% and when recharging it back it stuck at 99% for 45 mins. When i unplug the cable the battery will drop to 90% within few minutes. Then I recharge it again and stuck at 99% and drop back to 90% within few minutues after i unplug the cable again.This is not normal. Gotta fix it.
I understand that we should not charge battery until 100% but the problem is the watch can’t reach 100%. Suunto have to fix this problem. Is our choice whether to charge until 99% or 100%.
When i just bought the watch the battery can reach 100%.Or the battery already spoiled?

I completely understand you and sorry for the wrong intention of saying it’s ok at 99%
What I wanted to say is the following
When you have it plugged to the cable the watch if it reaches 100% it stops charging and drops to 99% that is what I was refering to normal.
According to what your said, that does not sound normal to me to be honest.
I am not focusing on the 99%-100% but more on that when you unplug it from 99% then it drops to 90% -
@babychai
IMHO This is a calibration issue or a defective battery, but I don’t think it’s related to the FW itself -
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos
Thanks for your clarification on 99%-100%So the battery drop from 99% to 90%, do you think is the battery problem? Should i go to service center to check? I think no people complain this kind of problem here except me.
-
@babychai
Yes you should. At least to check hardware issues -
@babychai
you have a 2 year warranty if I am not mistaken.1Year on battery perhaps
If I was you I would use the watch not and when I would get closer to 1 year I would ask for a battery change.
Or do it now.
