I understand that there are others posts with the same problem but are old, from 2019 with another version!!!
Hello the last days, i have problems to get the gps signal. I don’t change any thing of the configuration. Always the suunto 9 baro catch the signal in a few seconds, and if the location is new , then always get signal more longer time, but no more than 30 seconds.
I have configurated always with gps and glonass signal.
And now, i start the move with the watch, and is looking for signal for two o three minuts, and every day i sincronise with app.
Anyone have an idea that why is that problem ocurred??
Thanks -
@carlesmp23
when the Suunto App community became the Suunto community, we discussed that there will be a lot more users and also comments and questions. Therefore we elected 4 more moderators to keep the forum as tidy as possible… tidy in the meaning of: as little redundancy of questions as possible.
You have asked a valid question, no worries. But @sartoric answered your question with a tip about AGPS and with the hint to use the search function and closed the topic as you will find very useful comments from other experienced users in existing threads.My answer to your issue: I haven’t yet had issues to lock satellites whatsoever. If you start playing with your watch a little bit you may also experience affects of your settings.
I always start with the latest AGPS and with GPS system only in performance mode and lock satellites within seconds.
Try different settings and check how they affect time for satellites lock. Please also check if there are tall buildings, trees with big leafe coverage etc above you. -
Hi @carlesmp23
The reason why I locked the other topic (and I’m going to lock this one too) is simple, as I said it’s just to “avoid duplicates” not because I want to be harsh or because I don’t like youEven if the other posts are old, the reasons for an issue are almost the same (except for newly introduced bugs) and the tests too.
Did you already tried what I suggested in the closed thread ?
Maybe you didn’t change nothing but the watch gps, for whatever reason, got stuck, so resetting it could helpHave you check one of the old post to find some other possible solutions ?
eg. https://forum.suunto.com/topic/2684/s9-baro-takes-very-long-to-find-gps-signal-before-a-move
You can reply to that post so everything will be kept in the same discussion and it’ll be easy to find for other people too.and of course try also what @TELE-HO suggested
