Spartan series battery management improvement: create continuous hr tracking only in sleep mode
-
Since the Spartan series will no longer be supported in the same way as the newer models and 24-7 wrist hr tracking isn’t recorded in the app for analysis after the fact (only avg hr during sleep is recorded and could be graphed), an improvement to battery life performance in the series for the watches that have optical HR would be to create a mode in which continuous hr tracking was on only during times where the watch detects sleep. This way the user still gets their resting HR data during night, recovery hours and can see that over time but it might push the typical 4-5 day with daily GPS use and notifications-on battery length to more than 7 (which might make it more attractive as a device to compete with the Suunto 9 or 5) if the HR is not triggering during the non-workout awake hours of the day.
Another awesome thing would be if there was a graph of avg hr during sleep and or min hr during sleep in the app and not just in the watch. But that is a separate thing.

Moved to Spartan area as the main “suggestion” is watch related
