      Hi @egika

Do you know when this drill feature will be on the Ocean? All other models seem to have gotten this, and I just feel like the Ocean is being neglected. Last year I ran into multiple issues with the Race S and Suunto said for my swimming use case the Ocean is the best they have, but now it seems that the Ocean does not get the new features in time.

Maybe @dimitrios-kanellopoulos have some insights into this as well?

      Kind Regards
      Reino

          Hi Suunto Ocean Users

I do not like to complain, but it seems that the Ocean is not going to get the Swim Drill function. It has been about 6 months since it was introduced to the other models. As a swimmer I am getting frustrated with this feature not being on the Ocean after all this time.

@egika and @dimitrios-kanellopoulos do you have any updates on this?

          Kind Regards
          Reino

@Reino-von-Wielligh Sorry, I don’t have an Ocean, so don’t know about what is in the testing.
I just know that the firmware cycle of Ocean is significantly longer than for other models. So the fact that this has not happened does not mean it is not planned for the future.

@Egika Thank you very much, its just very frustrating that this is still not on the Ocean. I have suggested this feature on the Suunto Polls form at least 3 times in the last 2 years. I had a Race S that kept breaking, and they suggested the Ocean for my amount of swimming, but feels like they are neglecting the Ocean.

@Reino-von-Wielligh I can test if the Ocean has the swim drills feature, but I do not know how that feature works. I could not find how to activate it in the Ocean

@isazi It came with the Q1 update, and never made it to Ocean, and its such an important feature for a swimmer, as you can’t track kicking and drills to your distance. Hence, I am just wondering why Suunto did not add it to the update as Ocean is advertised and recommended to me for Swimming and Open Water swimming ion harsh conditions, as the Race S had to be replaced 3 times.

@Reino-von-Wielligh sorry, what I mean is that I have an Ocean with a newer firmware and wanted to check if drills are there or not, but have no idea how that works, so cannot test. If you know how it works I will test it. If not there, I will report that the feature should get to the Ocean.

Because of hardware limitations, and the fact that the Ocean has all the diving features, there are some other features that are not going to make it there. But I hope drills are not one of them.

@isazi Thank you very much, if you can please see the drill mode as in the Q2 video release by Suunto and test it for me. It is a must feature and this can’t be a hardware limitation issue for swim drill mode.

If it is there and you can see it, please let me know, that at least I know it should be coming.

I swim about 60km a week and would love to use this feature, and would even help with the testing on the Ocean if possible, at all.

@isazi if it is implemented like in Race and other newer watches, just scroll down in a indoor swimming sport mode and you should find the “drill option”

@Reino-von-Wielligh I checked (thanks @sergiob also for the pointer) and currently in the latest test firmware the Ocean does not have the swim drills functions. I sent a message to someone at Suunto saying that this is a feature that the Ocean should have. I will let you know if I get a reply, or if this function appears in testing at some point.

@isazi Thank you very much, I appreciate it. It’s a fairly easy implementation, I think this was purely missed with the last update, which is a pity, and hopefully they will include it now, since it’s not in the current test firmware as on your watch. I hope the next firmware update is around the corner. Also thank to @sergiob for pointing out where this should be in the menu. I can only hope to see it in the Ocean soon.
