@tm3610 race s would be sufficient. I don’t see the value of a race s2 currently.

@brechtvb HR sensor might be better on the Race S2 - but the watch is not out, yet…
And compared to the Race 2 the Race S is way cheaper…

@brechtvb yes I use a Polar H9 for everything except swimming. For that, I just tighten my strap and usually find good results (currently using a Forerunner 170).

@2b2bff I know there is no way of knowing when and if this new model would get released. But I don’t mind waiting a few months if it means I could get in on the latest hardware and longest support for software.

@Squirrel sounds like a plan. Any idea if there are rumors of a new Run or smaller, budget variant? I’m looking at that for my son (almost 13).

It could a good watch if it wasn’t for- crap battery duration, really bad after two last fw updates
- crap HR measurement in water, so for swimming you need a hr belt with memory
- reliabiliy. Mine is made in finland, no difference with made in china. After 2 years charging base died, lower button does not respond, even though i’ve always treated the watch very carefully
I have no experience with other watches, but this is at best mediocre

Are you sure, you are talking about the Race S? AFAIK all of the are made in China…

@2b2bff Nope first race S were made in Finland.
That’s the case of mine, ordered soon after release. Generalisation of Made In China was a few month after.
Anyway : I also have a high battery drain on daily use. 10% last night with sleep tracking ON, DND on from 11PM to 7 AM. Backlight to low.
