No sound after firmware upgrade
-
@Gizmo666 strange. I am out of ideas now
-
@Egika yes and this is the 2nd brandnew watch in 1 week. So is it hardware or software problem? Thats the big question.
-
@Gizmo666 Have you tried the alarm? Does it work?
If the alarm works it means that is something related with the settings if not maybe the beeper is faulty.
-
@cosme.costa yes, tried that. Does not work.
-
@Gizmo666 In your case, if you are in the return window I will replace it in the shop where you bought it if not I will open a ticket with Suunto Service department and you will have it repaired in no time. As an example, before Christmas I sent my old S9B to replace the buttons (out of warranty of course) and in 5 days, including weekend I have it at home.
-
@cosme.costa the mistery is solved.
My wife said whats that annoying noise coming from your watch. I said your hear that? Yes she said.
I’m high tone deaf. Apparently those tones are very high pitched, above 3000Hz. So, too bad but I can’t hear them. -
well, this is pretty interesting

I guess we can summon @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos or @pavel.samokha to maybe confirm
-
@sartoric Yeah would be great that this high pitched tones would be lowered to 2000Hz for people with bad hearing.

Firmware change request. -
@sartoric do they usualy reply here?
-
I would suggest to factory reset. But this sucks. I am not sure what the problem could be if all settings are ok
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos the tones work but they are too high pitched for my hearing.
My wife and daughter tell me that the tone is very high. -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos BTW, it also sucks that there is no volume setting anywhere.
-
@Gizmo666 do they changed? to higher pitch?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos dunno, my first Suunto.
-
@Gizmo666
didn’t you say that you heard something before the fw update ? -
@sartoric i tought I did yes but now I’m not certain anymore. Anyway I guess the first watch wasn’t faulty either. I will have to rely on the vibration than on tone 🫡🫡
-
I just measured the alarm tone from the SV2
6000hz at 50dbThats high pitched and quiet if you ask me.
Time for the devs to change that in the software.
Are they following this forum? -
