Software Update 2.44.52 (2025 Q3 - HOTFIX)

@Shrek3k older activities have not changed. I’ll see if next runs are ok. I had tried to change the pace zones, but with the settings I have set my race should have been tagged has long aerobic. Hard aerobic is clearly linked to my HR
Understood. I did a ‘new’ run (10,1 km) after the update, which still is on VO2max with an average HR of 126 and 5:32min/km.
Checking the next run (unfortunately due to work/travel only next Tuesday or Wednesday). -
@Shrek3k can you show us the pace zones and the power zones diagrams of this run?
-
Got the Update on my 9PP
Great, the multi sensor works, and the battery display of the sensor is a nice addition.
But :- I also got all my zones resets, which led to a few “VO2MAX” auto tag (how difficult is it to save the previous zone ? seriously ? or at least re-calculate it based on Vo2max ?
- my HR sensor turned off this morning, rebooting the watch fixed the issue…
But would you PLEASE do some actual QA ? it’s frustrating that every single release in the last 2 years is accompanied by multiple new bugs, it’s not that hard !
-
@soisan I hope I have the right information (lost in translation might be an option).
And no: I had not adapted the power / and or pace-zones ever before, as I expect(ed), that the App uses the defined/adapted HR-zones (only).
Otherwise I expect to receive a strong recommendation that SA is unusable if not all zones are adapted (HR, power, pace) which will most probably make SA nearly unusable for all amateurs and every-day-users. Just my two cents. -

I had the same thought: for the past 2 years, updates have corrected some bugs and added new features, but the most frustrating thing is that bugs appear in functions that didn’t have any problems.
It’s a surprise with every update and it’s becoming tiresome. I’ve had Suunto watches for 20 years and I’ve always been satisfied, but now I’m starting to get tired of playing the tester and I am increasingly considering going to see at other brands. -
@fondueaufromage unfortunatly garmin isn’t better (it’s worse), I don’t know about polar and Coros tho…

Anyone can confirm if with the last 2 FW on SV you can see the footpod icon when about to start an activity?
I remember I used to have 3 icons: heart, gps and this third (I can’t remember the shape). Now the pod icon is gone, even if the pod is connected and actually records the workout.

@Shrek3k Your expectations are one thing and I agree they are reasonable. The right classification of your activities under the current state of the app is another thing though. If you want to have it, you must adapt your pace and power zones at the watch.

Update was successfully installed on the Vertical Solar. Nothing noticed yet, except that a personalized sport mode is missing again. When will you finally get that done, I don’t understand anymore.
-
@Kaiphi
I have a Suunto Vertical and I also have personalized sports modes, and none of them have been deleted during any of the updates. I’ve had the watch since February. I created the personalized activity about 5 months ago. -
With this new update I have very strange TSS data and recovery time. Yesterday I ran a trail 18km and 1200m of elevation. TSS was 160 and recovery time 365 hours…
Today I did a hike, similar 18km and 900m of elevation. TSS is 210 and recovery time is 720 hours.Something odd is going on…
-
-
@segi_pn Congratulations
I have the problem for a year with both verticals, and with my 9PP before that
-
@valeR Wow, it seems you had a really hard workout?
But by the way… I had a walk on saturday and a soft 5km run yesterday… the first activities on the actual firmware… for me, everything seems to be as usual… and yesterday, my VO2max was back… it disappeared after updating in august…
-
@Elipsus Indeed, I guess it’s not necessarily better elsewhere at others brands and that’s why I’m still with Suunto. For the moment…
(Merci pour le pseudo
)

@soisan but shouldn’t there be a bit of a prompt or assistance from the watch or app for this? I’ve recently noticed that (since the non-hotfix update I think) my runs are using TSS
which has been giving silly numbers because my pace zones were very slow. I’d taken some time to set heart rate zones, but I didn’t realise pace zones mattered or could be set manually until then.
So we’ve got great hardware, and more advanced training and recovery algorithms than the obvious competitors, and a new AI training plan tool - but I’ve got weeks of duff data because the advanced algorithms have been relying on some hidden values left on a default that the most basic of stats could have detected as wrong (>Z5 pace at Z2 HR for an hour?), and either automatically made a better guess at, or at least told me there was a thing to fix.
-
@John-Himsworth you are totally right, there are some really interesting ideas in your post! In the meantime and until Suunto creates the perfect app, I hope you manage to adjust your pace and power zones so that you won’t get any duff data anymore.
-
Has anything happened for those who are experiencing rapid battery drain suunto vertical more than 1% an hour??? My SV is currently with suunto repair for this issue haven’t heard from them.
-
Hi,
Beeping after auto-stop/start is still there - can’t be silenced.
Is this feature or bug? (I would like o swich beeping off, as it was before last major update).Regards, Marko
