@suzzlo It’s good to avoid situations like the one we had with Movescount – SuuntoApp.
Software upgradeV2-V3 should only be made when the new version is 100% ready to replace the older one.
For years, every new software has meant removing several very useful features.

@suzzlo same! And my Race 1 actually has character now. I like watches which look worn and have some scratches (scars 🙂) here and there!

I’m seriously tempted to send my Race S back and upgrade to the Race 2.

The policy says it can’t be used but has anyone worn their watch for a couple of weeks before returning it within the 30 day returns window (assuming it’s in pristine condition)?

@Steven-Hambleton Just because I am interested as a Race S owner: Why do you want to do that? Do you see advantages worth the 150€ premium?

Interesting watch, especially if OHR will finally work correctly. But it’s really strange from Suunto to not include a music player since they introduced it in the low-cost model. The price is a little bit high right now, but I hope it will drop to €399 with some discounts in the near future or Christmas discounts. Other than that, it looks great, even that AMOLED is not my favorite watch screen type, it looks great and with LTPO it should not impact battery as much. Definitely good direction from Suunto. I am little bit afraid of size compared to ny current S5. But soon i will look for replacement so i will consider this watch.

I can add my two cents.

Race 2 Titanium arrived today. I used it for test (can return within 90 days in my online shop, if no traces of use.
I tested it with my Race 1 strap. Watch less bounce on hand, probably becouse its just a little bit lighter (5g?) and smaller, also watch lugs are different + HR sensor is more flat?
Its not perfect, but very comfortable (probably most people will say its great). If You liked normal Race on Your hand -> You gonna love Race 2.
System is faster, but it already was fast enough in Race1 after many updates. People said crown is taken from Race S. I can’t confirm but its different than in Race 1. Iam not sure if i like it. It got different vibrate and feeling, more sliding, Race crown stop after every rotate. I used Race + Suunto Chest strap, which was very good combo. I tested Race 2 without HR strap and my average HR after 1h was like same as in last runs with Chest strap. I had identical calories burn also. Iam new in running world so can’t say statistics, but seems like got same results like with HR chest strap. I would say its perfect, but I need more tests to confirm that. I get used to chest strap, but i felt so good without it today. In my race 1(and vertical before) I had funny drops from 170~ HR to 40 “just-like-that”. It was annyoing and forced me to get chest strap.

Black design of Titanium is perfect, I wonder how scratches will shown over time. Race 1 is scratch-free visible becouse of its build. Race 2 Ti makes great combo with Race 1 charcoal strap (changed silver buckle & pin from different suunto original strap to make it darker) would add a photo but right now charging it, downloading maps from new charger! Its great, but honsetly i never had problem with it. I just make sure its charging and back after like 1.5h to plug off. Also new watchface is fantastic!

I decided to keep Race 2, my race 1 is already on sale, so price of Race 2 wont hurt that much. In my country after exchange its 714$ (exactly same price on official suunto.com after exchange). But in my country online shop i had also discount code so finally paid 642$. I’ll maybe get half of that money for Race Ti.

If You have Race 1 and chest strap, You can stay with that.
If You’re new Suunto user, You could consider Race 2. If You’re tech-guy like new technology & sport, go for Race 2.

Race 1 updates changed many things over time. Iam interested what will happen to Race 2.

Is sleep tracking/algorithm on SR2 new compared to other Suunto watches (SR S, SR1,…)?

Anyone noticed that after checking time and pulling hand down, Race 2 watch is still on for longer time than Race 1 and other Suunto watches? Not always but sometimes.

I haven’t seen the product yet. It may arrive a little late in our country. But from what I’ve seen, the charging cable should be removable from the charging station for long-lasting and effective use.

Anyone knows the easier way to lock screen after i start a workout, i don’t want to accidently pause the workout during skiing or cycling?

PS: i hope they will fix sime pixel issue and auto blood oxygen measure would be great…

Saw it at the UTMB stalll and can definitely say it has very positive wow effect, but I’m a Suunto race fan so that feeling would be expected…😊
The first thing I connected to was the new charger, you can actually hold the watch by the cable…
Can’t wait to get my hands on this wonder.

Been with a Suunto on my wrist since Ambit2
Currently alternating between Race titanium & Vertical titanium solar.
Would love a Vertical with amoled display.

Anyone else having troubles with Resources? First couple hours it did indicate everything as it should but since yesterday evening it’s just recovering. And finishing some yard work for couple hours just and heart rate in 120bpm I doubt it was recovery 😄

Other than that, great watch, heart rate accuracy is hugely better after my first run. Vibration motor has been upgraded and it is so good. And thank god it is using same SW as Race, Vertical etc.

Hello, Im using race 2 for quite some time as I’am reviewer for ultra magazine in my country, its great watch, gps is spot on even if it uses older sony chipset. Screen is much better and brigther than in fenix 8 I personally own. My only concern is pool swimming… i can’t do proper session because of auto rest only. It’s not accurate for me… it’s only downside of the watch for the moment for me. Just enable manual lap in pool swim and it should do

@Brad_Olwin Maybe it would be worth rethinking and returning to the solution from the previous pause screen from 9PP (before the new version of the pause screen) when this rather dangerous “End” option was not active by default as it is now?

Hi. Is there a problem with the resources on the latest firmware 2.46.4 on Suunto Race2. It does not go below 88 at al during 24h its the same every day. Does anyone else have the same issue? I do not have the problem on Race 1. Same maximum and restingheart rate on both watches.

Battery usage Race 2 = 24h lost 12%. So far I dont worry, battery not calibrated, not drained to 0% 😛 Race much lower, around 7%

My experience so far with the SR2 Titanium:

                                            • Comfort: This is the first Suunto watch in years where I don’t have any problems with the lugs digging into my wrist bone. It’s very comfortable and feels light weight. The watch is not bouncing around like the SR, because it’s slimmer (I use chest strap, so I don’t wear it too tight)
                                            • Sleeping with it: I don’t feel the watch on my wrist (I use with with a Run strap)
                                            • Screen: It looks great. I really liked the screen of the original SR, but this one is even more readable. There’s hardly any difference in the black of the display itself and the outer ring (if you know what I mean). The extra 0.07" are definitely noticeable, as well as the higher brightness.
                                            • Design: I find it a little boring, the original SR1/SV have more “personality”. It looks like a bigger Race S.
                                            • Buttons: As good as the SR1
                                            • Crown: It’s a little bit smaller than on the SR1 and it works great. Very easy to operate and precise. Also the haptic feedback is good.
                                            • Performance: I don’t see much difference between SR1 and SR2. Both watches are responsive and I don’t see any lags. I haven’t tried maps yet, but I guess this is an area where the SR2 is more performant. There are only two situations where a little lag is noticeable. Scrolling up from the widgets back to the watch face and from the watch face up to the sports profiles. I can live with that. It’s a sports watch not an Apple Watch.
                                            • Sound ist loud enough and vibration is strong enough during training (just like SR1)
                                            • Charging cable: This is finally a user friendly (=working) charging solution, and USB-C!
                                            • Saving workout and sync to app: Seems to me a little bit faster
                                            • GNSS: As perfect as SR/SV
                                            • Wrist HR: Looks reasonable outside of training. I always use a chest strap.
                                            • Battery: Too early to say something. I got it on Thursday, started with 98%. Since then firmware update, 3,5h GPS recordings, 24/7 HR, sleep tracking with HRV, no blood oxygen measurement, always on display, no smartphone notifications enabled. I am at 68% now.

Reasons to upgrade for me have been the new lug design and the bigger screen, and I am very happy with what I got.

For me the main difference between SR1 and SR2 is the improved comfort. Everything else is pretty much the same currently. I would not have upgraded if my wrist bone would be more compatible with the SR1’s lug design.

EDIT: My resources numbers are also far too high. I did a VO2Max session today and 1 hour after this training, I was back at 100%. I am basically recovering 24h/day, which I am unfortunately not in reality.
