Recent backend or app changes have suddenly enabled out-of-zone alerts during structured workouts. This makes the watch completely unusable, especially for intervals.
At the start and stop of each interval (every 60 seconds), the watch already beeps. Now it also beeps when entering the zone, again when exiting, again when re-entering, and continuously when out of zone. With short intervals of fast/slow, this results in an hour of nonstop beeps and vibrations.
Please roll back whatever was changed in the backend or app so that alerts only happen at each workout step—or at least make this behaviour configurable.

@mando Agreed to this, i think it should be optional function to enable Notify out of zone

I isazi moved this topic from Feature Suggestions
-
@mando I prefer not to have them and during testing myself and several testers voiced their concerns/displeasure over this feature. I think we are in the minority as many users requested this. I would never use this. Hopefully we will have the option in the future. I will keep pushing.

@Brad_Olwin there is room for this in longer parts of a workout where you might drift away from your target in either direction. But for short intervals it is useless, as you never can switch your pace / HR or whatever in a second just to make the watch happy.
-
@Brad_Olwin with you in this one. I hope you can push this one through. Was so happy that Suunto did not had these alerts before.

@mando yes. I did my first structured workout today and my watch buzzed every single time I went in and out of a zone. It was awful! Plus, I’m rehabbing a knee injury and had walk/run intervals set and I never knew if it was buzzine the start of a rest or just a change in zone so I was constantly checking my watch. I want to be able to toggle the feature on or off as I can see it’s use if I’m trying to do a specific pace.

I absolutely agree. The constant alerts from intervals then also laps is just too much for me….Please make this an option.
I know we can put the watch in DND but there really should be an option to turn out of zone alerts off. Just like we already have with auto laps.

@deserthike20 @MotherRunner @aiv4r @2b2bff @mando I will convey this to Suunto but I may set up a poll or something here to help gain traction on this. The more that want a change the better chance we have. I will enquire on the field test site first to see if this is planned to be optional and get back to you here.
