Suunto Run + New Strap
-
@aiv4r older watches will get better S+ guides with most requested features in next update (as far as I know)
-
I guess everyone who was waiting for useful updates to interval/structured intervals might be disappointed.
Source: https://www.sport-passion.fr/test-materiel/test-montre-suunto-run.phpNo countdown timer and no out of zone alerts according to Youtube reviews/previews. The screen is cramped with data with super small digits. And the primary metric, the current intensity, is a simple small number. And it seems, that on the interval screen the total duration of the whole workout is displayed. Those are the biggest numbers. Somehow I don’t quite understand what the designers were thinking
To put it positively: there is room for improvement. Just my opinion. But all the other new stuff in this OS looks really well designed.

The do not need to evaluate anything, we want all of them
only if they are an improvement with respect to SV, SR, RS firmware, not everything new is better

Is the new charger working with the other watches. So if you buy the Run and use the charger on the Ocean will be OK? I am asking for a friend I don’t need another watch (or do I since I mostly run)
-
@EzioAuditore nope, the new charger is only for the Run.
-
@Stefano-M64 agree. From what I see - track running will get there, structured workouts too.
Everything else - kind of fluff.
Most likely recovery will make to the old ones, but I am not convinced in value of that one. Of course I am only guessing -
@aiv4r recovery already works on the older watches, via the app, it is just the on watch widget that is missing.
-
@wmichi it’s new firmware. It should be better in a year or two, as it was with 2.x.

Any info regarding running training tools such as training plans or adaptive running suggestions?

these are more part of the app and not of the watch itself.
And the info is, that Suunto is working on this on the app side -

@dulko79 The Ocean is very very similar to the Vertical only with diving functions. Unfortunately currently an update behind it… And in my experience the updates take a very long time. But at least something is in prospect. For me pers. the most beautiful watch and that even I don’t dive. I just didn’t want a rotary crown like the race … I really hope that the Ocean is not neglected and as, in my opinion, as the flagship, gets all future functions.
-
I hope that SUUNTO won’t forget the owners of premium SV watches and that you’ll let us benefit from the OS and functions of this SUUNTO Run.
Can’t wait to see what they have in store for us. -
@isazi where is located the baro hole? it seems that these watch can be weared on both hands
-
I was going to ask if anyone knew the list of available sport modes. But I already found it through Joaquin Pérez Suunto Expert:
Mmm… what a shame. In my case, just including padel tennis would have been enough for 99% of my activities. But, of course, not like that, because I play about 100 matches a year. Too bad for me.
-
@suzzlo if you wear the watch the normal way, it is in front.
-
-
@suzzlo it is at 12 o’clock, you cannot see it in the picture
-
@suzzlo and you can select in the watch, on which arm and in which orientation you are wearing it.
So right arm, crown facing hand, is possible, as the display is rotatedIn this case the baro holes are at 6 o’clock

that was a suggest feature for left handed people, nice that has been implemented
