I have a proposal that may not be very popular. Leave it as it is, i.e. a few screens where you can’t stop the activity (map, some S+). Or hide “End” option a bit deeper.
It still happens that I accidentally stop the activity and then there is no easy option to merge the activities without external tools.
It was great in 9PP, that the default in the pause menu was “Options” (“End” was at the end of the pause menu), and now after updates default is “End”. Two accidental presses and the activity is finished. -

To stop an activity it is effectively two button press but one on the bottom one (pause to option screen) and then the middle button (stop activity).
It is not so an accidental pattern, isn’t it?
