Suunto Run + New Strap

@Cédric that’s what I was referring to !

@Tieutieu @raven Indeed, I use my watch only for running, and the interval counter feature is so basic that I still don’t understand how it’s not available in the Suunto app.
Same for the countdown timer.Apologies for being slow on the uptake here. So the situation is the new Run has these features that the Race and Race S does not? So far my running with my Race S has been either unstructured or “improv” based on my current HR or reading from ZoneSense (i.e. stay in a specific range). And it’s believed these features won’t be back ported?

@raven we don’t know, run is not out officially, and no update has been announced for other watches. We’re just making guesses !

Ah, I originally asked: “ Which features are you seeing in the Run you want on your Race?” And thought there was a “known” feature being discusses.

On the Amazon website, there’s an image showing an interval counter for the Suunto Run.

Thanks, Cedric, I’ll go and take another look. I’d hope / expect this would be backported. Apparently though I may be in the minority as some people seem to think Suunto is mostly incapable of adding features to existing devices.

@raven A Suunto France representative recently said that the Vertical and Race are the new development platform for Suunto watches, so we should logically get the latest features.
That may have changed since then…

That’s promising to hear, and would support my hopes that the local music feature of the Run might also get backported, which would mean that Suunto had a long term plan and ensured the Race and Vertical had the needed hardware. The counter-argument would be the improved optical sensor on the Race S, which ideally would have been on at least the Race too, so that does seem like an adjustment made after reviews of the Race.

@raven Here’s the link to the video, which is in French https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zu-GCU8p09I&t=254s
It’s 11 months old—not so recent after all.
He talks about it at the 41 minutes of the video. -
One of the Amazon images references to “offline music”. That would be a change. Let’s hope it isn’t just MP3s but some kind of streaming platform integration.

@Theo-Lakerveld I would not hold my breath if what DC Rainmaker has been saying for the last few years. According to him it is not Suunto or Coros not trying, he says that the companies are just not interested in taking on Suunto or Coros. Kind of like not being able to do real text responses on an Apple device vs an android. Apple is not willing to open up that functionality.

Repetition counter: COOL!
But I’m afraid I won’t be able to read (especially when moving) those tiny characters.

@enriqueescoms I know right.
