Software Update 2.40.38 (2025 Q1)
-
Sleep tracking is not working since the last update 2.40.38 even after stop/start the watch and stop/start the sleep tracking. Since two nights.
After some sleep tracking missing with previous firmware, it was working pretty good with 2.39.44 after stop/start the watch and adjusting the rest HR.
Now I am disappointed to see regression and don’t know what to do.
May be going back to 2.39.44 but not sure it will work after that. -
@Frederick-Rochette I had the same thing a few days ago. After another sync, the missing time before the second sleep interval was added in the app.

Possibly a bug on my Vertical: when I disable Wi-Fi under the Wireless Network Automatic menu, the setting doesn’t stick. When I return to the menu, it’s enabled again. If you don’t mind letting me know whether I’m alone with this issue, I’d appreciate it. Not a big deal, by the way — thanks to the developers for their work.
I have the same.

Hello, friends. New Vertical here, less than 48 hours after the purchase. I updated it to the latest version out of the box. The first 24 hours I got 10-11% battery discharge with 147 minutes gps in performance mode. Pulse OX deactivated (always the first thing to do), brightness low, standby toggled to off, raise to wake low. Is my consumption normal? I guess it’s way to early to comment on it perhaps. Reboot with 12 seconds press of upper button done right after the update.

@Highlands check again after a few battery cycles.

I have the same situation. But since it is always on, there is no problem. It turns off in airplane mode anyway.

Hi everyone,
I have a Suunto Vertical, and since updating to the latest version, I’ve noticed a decline in sleep tracking accuracy. To try and fix this, I unpaired the watch from the Suunto app and then paired it again, but the issue persists.
Additionally, I’ve noticed that on the new watch faces, especially the Athletics one, the data doesn’t update correctly. For example, my energy level stays at 70%, but when I check the menu, it has already dropped to 65%. The only way to sync the data is by performing a reset (holding the button for 12 seconds), but as you can imagine, it’s not practical to do multiple resets per day.
On top of that, I’m also experiencing the Wi-Fi networks bug: the setting doesn’t stay on “On.” Even if I manually switch it on, it remains off.
Has anyone else experienced these issues? Is it possibile to go back to the previous firmware?

For me, the sleep detection is broke since this update on Race. Was fine before. Now if went to toilet 1hour before alarm, the sleep ends at this time even if i quickly fall asleep again (with airplane mode). Today opposite problem. Went to bed before 10pm and sleep detected from 00:00…

@timecode ok, I get that. So the text below the 54 is referring to that 46 or so that is marked in the graph? If so, it made much more sense if last night’s value was above the graph. As it currently is presented it gives the impression that the text is referring to last nights value.
To expand on that topic, it seems like the watch measurement isn’t synchronised with the Suunto App calculations. I have gone through a few Race S because I couldn’t make up my mind whether to keep it or not. So my Suunto App has a longer period of sleep data and the watch told me to have at least 14 days until it can present my normal range of HRV. In the Suunto App however there was a normal range present. Currently it is 48-54, what is different from the watch.
If you have multiple watches, shouldn’t be that synchronised across them? -

I have this problem too

@runomatic
Was the case before this update but now even after reset that doesn’t work at all… -

@runomatic
Yes but before the watch update that works well. -
@pavel-samokha
I have a Suunto 9 Peak Pro with the new update. Alpine Skiing (Downhill) mode yesterday recorded the activity but average speed, max speed and all information just showed zero during the activity. Prior to the update it has worked fine this winter. I didn´t really do any dubugging on this like restarting the activity once I noticed just let it run through and when pressing the split time button I noticed it gave data. In the end all the data was there. -
@fedequei i revert back to previous firmware without any troubles. Just becareful to remove newer watchfaces because it is not supposed to be installed on older firmwares.
-
battery wise i do observe elevated consumption with the new watch faces btw,
let’s see . 10% per day at the moment

for the S9PP, I have to say it works very well after this update !
except for the GPS mode that’s always set as custom (but does not seem to be an issue since it uses he Performence settings I believe), I like the Navigation setting thats keeps the last setting, unlike before.
And the sleep tracker data that don’t match in the app but are fine in the watch.
The new swim face is nicer too.
the battery life is excellent. -
This problem seems to have started with the previous update. Why can’t I turn on only “24/7 wrist HR” without turning off sleep tracking at the same time? Now I am forced to either turn off both at once or turn on both at once which takes more time. Previously, this could be done separately and leave, for example, sleep tracking which still did not bother and did not consume more power. Does anyone have an idea why I am forced to set the time every time I turn on sleep tracking?
