Software Update 2.40.38 (2025 Q1)
-
@Ars-Vitae I always use the same settings, sleep tracking, 24h HR, etc.
It used to be 3-4% per day. After some buggy update a long time ago the battery drain problem appeared (many people reported it on the forum) and it has remained that way to this day.@SuperFlo75 Testers never seem to see any problems. That’s the problem with Suunto.
I hope that this public beta (despite its ridiculous duration) is a signal that something is changing. -
@maszop I guess, a lot is fixed behind the curtains. Let’s see what happens when there is a time window to actually have a meaningful test in public…
With Garmin’s public betas, there are reports from the testers and the software is released with reported bugs anyway.
-
@2b2bff Garmin is a giant, it can afford a lot. Absurd prices, subscriptions, bugs, etc. It doesn’t matter. People buy it en masse anyway.
Suunto cannot afford something like that to survive. Customers’ patience does not last forever, especially since an alternative exists and is developing rapidly. -
Today first swim session with the new frimeware : autolap now works perfectly. Speed / average speed / time / distance : all perfectly calculated ( i pushed the wall every lap).
Thanks for the work and this update for swimmers everything seems to be correct -
On all activities I tried since the update, none of them were a custom mode, had the battery mode set to “custom”, not “performance”.
I tried to adjust the 3 settings of the custom mode to match the performance mode, no effect. Some of the activities were running (basic), pilates, cross training, walking.
A soft reboot doesn’t solve the issue.
Not a big issue but mega annoying. -
@jjorgemoura yes, this is what i report previously. Battery mode always go back to Custom even though the settings are same with Performance mode.

In my case, a September or October update solved the problem. And I’m sorry that for your watch this problem has not been yet solved. If it could help a little I remember that in my case it was gps issue so I rebooted my watch after every activity with maps, every time. After that update, I didn’t even have to restart the watch, the problem disappeared.

Today’s morning report. Somehow 54 is less than 47…
BTW: Translation: “unterhalb dem Normalwert” is widely used in conversations, but gramatically correct is “unterhalb des Normalwerts”.

@2b2bff the graph doesn’t show your last night’s value. But the 7 days average. And it’s 46 (I think?), which is less than 47.
-
I updated my Race S titanium recently and since then sleep tracking only worked if I opened the sleep app/widget after waking up.
Yesterday I restarted the watch hoping this would help, but now the sleep tracking didn’t work even after opening the app/widget in the morning.
Other than that I also encountered the reset of the watch face settings during the update process. -
No sleep tracking for two nights after the update with Race. The previous update worked perfectly, is there a way to go back to that?
-
@Ghost
Mine is the opposite behaviour. Can’t enable it. Neither on the watch, nor in the app. -
Sleep tracking is not working since the last update 2.40.38 even after stop/start the watch and stop/start the sleep tracking. Since two nights.
After some sleep tracking missing with previous firmware, it was working pretty good with 2.39.44 after stop/start the watch and adjusting the rest HR.
Now I am disappointed to see regression and don’t know what to do.
May be going back to 2.39.44 but not sure it will work after that. -
@Frederick-Rochette I had the same thing a few days ago. After another sync, the missing time before the second sleep interval was added in the app.

Possibly a bug on my Vertical: when I disable Wi-Fi under the Wireless Network Automatic menu, the setting doesn’t stick. When I return to the menu, it’s enabled again. If you don’t mind letting me know whether I’m alone with this issue, I’d appreciate it. Not a big deal, by the way — thanks to the developers for their work.
I have the same.

Hello, friends. New Vertical here, less than 48 hours after the purchase. I updated it to the latest version out of the box. The first 24 hours I got 10-11% battery discharge with 147 minutes gps in performance mode. Pulse OX deactivated (always the first thing to do), brightness low, standby toggled to off, raise to wake low. Is my consumption normal? I guess it’s way to early to comment on it perhaps. Reboot with 12 seconds press of upper button done right after the update.

@Highlands check again after a few battery cycles.
