Software Update 2.40.38 (2025 Q1)

The menu is very smooth. Great!
But I discovered a bug. When I have active auto-pause and locked buttons, the auto-pause symbols and pause time finally appear. Thanks for this fix!
But even when the buttons are locked, I can resume the activity. -

@Stefano-M64 While the subtitles help, I was wondering if those flowcharts and menu diagrams are available anywhere outside of this one guyâs videos?
it seems that guy has a somewhat privileged contact channel with Suunto

âSupport for new watch face typesâ
I hope we will get interfaces that are compatible with camping and hiking where we can put more than 4 complications on the main screen.

SUUNTO RACE S / SUUNTO RACE / SUUNTO VERTICAL / SUUNTO 9 PEAK PRO
Staged update starting on March 25th 2025
Hello, does the Race S step counting issue will be solved at some point??
Regards,
-
@pavel-samokha Please excuse me, but I donât understand the point of the beta test if the firmware release is already planned after one day. It seems like pure actionism to me!
Almost all problems with the firmware only became apparent after a week or more, so a beta test should take longer than a day. -
@SuperFlo75 My guess is that it was the first step towards more serious beta tests in the future and just to see if someone would find a bug so serious that the deployment would need to be postponed.
-
@Egika Also what is the difference between Ski mountaineering and Ski touring ? Is it just the notion of carrying the skis that makes the difference ?
-
@SuperFlo75 To be fair, he initially wrote that he knows this beta release is quite late and the final version is coming soon. I think itâs a step in the right direction though.
-
@timecode Hopefully. One week is a reasonable time to get some conclusions from public testing.
However, such âtestsâ lasting several hours are just a ploy to please the audience.

Do you really think that the FW tests are limited to 1 day of publicly available beta ?
-
@timecode yes, I saw this yesterday, and I expected the release of the new firmware next week⌠this would be soon, too⌠but not less than 24 hours later
-
@sartoric Looking at previous updates, internal tests werenât quite working. Thatâs where the idea for some additional public testing came from.
-
@SuperFlo75 yes, already mentioned that above. I hope next time we will do it more in advance
-
@Stoke80 Yeah, me either.
-
@pavel-samokha
Auto compass calibration no longer seems to work with this update.
First time Iâve been asked to do so since it was implemented (had GPS locked & been out for a walk but still wants me to manually calibrate).
-
@maszop
Sure, a wider test base is better to find some edge cases, but that doesnât mean that the FW is released untested. -
@steoreggia what counting issue? My Apple Ultra and Race S are almost equal every dayâŚ
-
@Jeffrey-Tillack
Also my Race is much better than Garmin F7Pro, which was counting steps while tooth cleaning, ironing, etc⌠-
Guys, relax. Suunto plays on the safe side. This time - a day before the public release, next time - a week before. Remain calm, no need to rush
-
My Vertical is now much faster when scrolling through the settings. Great job!
