Stryd + Vertical Pairing
-
Hi have recently bought the Stryd duo pods - does anyone know when pairing the devices does the SV pair both of them or just one ?
-
@murphyp228 just one, and to extract the most data, don’t use the Stryd S+ app, but instead pair them as a footpod.
After your run, sync the pods via the Stryd app and the data from both platforms will match.
If you’re following a Stryd workout, don’t forget to disable auto-laps on your running profile, as otherwise Stryd won’t be able to match the intervals.

@murphyp228 Stryd Duo is created on the Stryd app, as @Ze-Stuart said, the watch will only see one but for Stryd purposes, both will record data and you’ll see that in the Stryd app metrics.

Thanks @herlas @Ze-Stuart

@murphyp228 I made a longer write-up: https://zulusierra.co/p/using-suunto-and-stryd-in-2024

@Ze-Stuart nice article, couple of bits to add to it:
usage is counter-intuitive: if you have your Stryd pod paired to the watch, you have to un-pair it as a foot pod, so that the S+ app can connect to it —> no need to un-pair from watch, just disable foot pod from pre workout screen and that’s it.
for the not so good section, in case you want to add, it’s not a big deal, but there’s a long standing issue with Suunto-Stryd only, runs will get shorten from 7 to 10 secs on the first lap once synced to Stryd.
Suunto watches do not record power into FIT file during those initial seconds and Stryd doesn’t show you on their platform any time without a watt associated. Long history short, neither Suunto or Stryd want to fix this, I have tried and more than once

@herlas nice! Thanks! I’ll update tomorrow.

@Ze-Stuart thank you, I tried the s+ app today as a trial and i did a manual sync int eh Stryd app - I ended my with duplicates - is this normal and I just delete the one with the least data in it ?
Also is I don’t use the S+ app and I do the same, save and sync run in Suunto app and then do a manual sync in Stryd - will I end up with duplicates ?
Cheers
