Stryd S+ app
-
Stryd should consider supporting syncing structured workouts with Suunto. The support is there for third parties.

@seanvk I’ve been requesting in their official forums, got this reply recently :
"Thanks for your feature suggestion.
We do not have immediate plans to implement this feature. However, we will keep it in mind as we plan out our future road map"
Wouldn’t hurt to keep requesting. Anyone is welcome to keep that thread moving:

or via stryd FB group etc

@TyreseJ4 I had dropouts with ambit 3 sport. No more dropouts with 9pp

@herlas just wanted to add to the thread to give the team some kudos on releasing this app. Nice to see the Stryd metrics finally in the Suunto app. However, I mainly use the Stryd for treadmill, but if I activate the Stryd s+ app then it seems I lose the pace from the Stryd pod. So I will probably use the s+ Stryd app only for outdoor runs and use the Stryd as a foot pod for indoor track runs and treadmill runs.
Does that sound right for my use cases? Happy to get inputs from others who have tried the Stryd s+ app.

@chee-ee-jordan-lo there’s no use case for the S+ Stryd on treadmil runs at all, no pace, distance, cadence or power from the Stryd pod as you need to disable the footpod or power meter in order to be able to connect the S+ Stryd app.
Outdoors is up to the user decide whether or not using the S+ Stryd app is worth it.
Current implementation of the Stryd S+ app is not optimal, you only gain 4 stryd metrics on the fly displayed on the S+ app screen and saved to the fit file.
On the other side, you lose the intensity zones feature, distance, pace, cadence and power from STRYD when you disable the footpod, or/and lose Stryd’s main core feature which is an accurate, responsive, reliable power recording when you disable the power pod (remember, STRYD is hardware designed to capture your power generation independent of GPS signals) and if this isn’t bad already, you end up with an activity that has two power sources, watch own (S9PP SV, SR) and the Stryd power stream, which complicates and breaks the offline sync merge feature from Stryd that’s been in place and working fine for some years now.
Determine what matters in your case and decide accordingly

@chee-ee-jordan-lo Suunto’s SA doesn’t show drop offs, they’re suppressed
To be sure, check in Stryd’s powercenter to confirm that’s the case. -
FYI, I’ve opened a new thread in the Stryd forums providing my feedback about the Stryd Suunto + app. Anyone interested, please feel free to chime in, idea is to hopefully keep building momentum with Suunto-Stryd partnership.

Based on the reply - it was Suunto that did the app, not Stryd:
“This app is all developed by a Suunto team…” -

@Seb77 apparently you have to disable the footpod before the activity for the Stryd S+ app to work and connect to your Stryd.
May i know how to disable footpod before using Stryd S+ app
-
@Hassanai in the pre-workout screen, scroll to sensors and uncheck footpod and/or power pod, that should allow you to connect to the Stryd via the S+ Stryd app.

@herlas thank a lot. it’s work now.
